Nothing to blame yourself for - you and Franta have been though many a situation that a lot of people would not be able to cope with.

Am sending every possible good vibe his way and very much hope he pulls through this.

Of course it isn't your fault at all.  It is through you that he has come this far and, because of you, he is currently in exactly the right place in the hope of a good recovery

Gill - am so sorry to learn things are critical with our special lil man.   You must remember your kind words to me recently and embrace them too - this is not your fault.

Franta loves you.  More than that, he adores you.  He knows you wouldn't knowingly let him down.  Am praying that his condition stabilises and that when you ring the vet for a progress report you'll have better news.  Please keep us posted.

Just got back from vets and thought I was going to lose him  :(

I rushed him to vets this morning cos he hadnt eaten or drunk anything and hadnt used the tray foor 24 hrs.

He is very seriously ill and so wish I had realized yesterday, his bladder was blocked and the blood test show his phosherous off the scale as is hi kidney levels, he is severley dehydrated. Gareth wasnt sure he would make it through an anesthetic to release his bladder and putting him on a drip was going to agrevate the situation.

Howeever they got him on a drip and were going for an anesthetic to insert a catheter because to insert a needle straight into his bladder was too dangerous but I was then told they gave him valium and he was so week they didnt need use an anesthetic.

He is having glucose and electrylites every hour or two and is on a drip.

Its hope that this will flush out all the bad stuff and bring his phospheros level down and they hope is one kidney will recover but only time will tell.

I know he wasnt dehydrated when I gave him his jab yesterday and thought his lack of use of tray cos he wasnt eating, I know he drank a bit recently but my head so messed up I cant remember when.

He has gone down so fast and feel so guilty cos should have taken him yesterday when I started to suspect he wasnt well, I even drove past the bloomin place yesterday to get to other vets.

I will never forgive myself if he doesnt get better  :'( :'( :'(

I saw him for about 5 mins before I left and they are taking great care of him but apart from half of one blue eye looking he wasnt moving, just lying on his side. I gave him lots of gentle strokes and asked hiom to forgive me for being such a lousy meowmy and wished him to get better.

I am just so sorry for not looking after him better.

Franta is not feeling well at all and cant keep food down which maybe the weather.

Has had second jab today but he is acting like a big invalid and lying on side meowing quietly. Have looked back at records for Nov and he wasnt well then either.

Am hoping there will be no more seizures but wont be happier about this until tomorrow.

Didnt get much sleep at all cos he was waking me every 30 -45 mins and was pleased I was still in my shorts and shirt.

I feel really tired but cant sleep, guess I am worried about him so his slightest sound wakes me up.

If he still hasnt kept any food down by tomorrow will have to consult the vet. I have seen him drinking cos saw him go in the cage and may have had a few biscuits but hard to keep track of him all the time.

If he has had no more seizures by tomorrow I will let him roam the house again cos part of him being ill maybe self induced cos he cant go down stairs. This will also solve the problem with Misa who was sitting on thew stairs during the night cos he wanted to come onto the bed. He looked so sad and confused.

Yes I let him in but of course he didnt understand in was in, not in out in,,,,,,,,sigh

Cats dont like change even when they are ill.

Off to get the cat litter, Duchas metacam and some food for me.

He is feeling very sorry for himself and has eaten a bit and is now on my bed. He is not feeling good  at all.

Have to say Ducha isnt feeling that good either but he has just eaten a bit too.

Not a good thing to happen when the weather is so nice and I am feeling very tired tonight and the bed needs making and all puppy pads takien off.

I hope he feels a bit better tomorrow and am sure the marbocyl doesnt make him feel good to start with.

Thank you all for your concern.

Poor Franta,
I'm sure he will perk up soon, it's really scary watching a cat have a fit, both my two old girls suffered from occasional fits and I so wish I had known about this forum then as I felt so helpless
I remember coming home from a day out once to find our neighbour absolutely beside herself because one of the girls had had a fit whilst on their patio while we were out, strangely enough we found that they were often triggered by repetitive sounds (maybe in a similar way that strobe lighting can trigger epileptic fits in humans).
Sending you lots of   's and try not to worry.
