He's a fighter bless him and I'm so glad you are not having any of the past probs with the vets this time Gill.

Franta is clearly benefiting from his stay there.

Lots of vibes coming his way and yours.

Love Mary and Bonnie xxx

The phosphorus has dropped enough so the heart is no longer at risk but the worry is his kidney.

I think the fact that "the phosphorus has dropped enough so the heart is no longer at risk" is the main immediate thing Gill and that's showing good progress   I soooo understand that him having only one kidney is a terrible worry though  :(

I didnt know stress could be a cause Gilian, thanks for that

No I dont have any feliway and he hadnt been to vets cos went to get the meds without him after the seizure in the early hours Monday.

I know I should be positive but right now its too early to say if he will make it as he is still fighting for his life. The vet is pleased he has improved but he has so far to go before it can be determined if he will recover.

He is just making steps in the right direction and I am still very scared as he only has one kidney. The phosphorus has dropped enough so the heart is no longer at risk but the worry is his kidney.

Oh Gill I'm just catching up with all this - thanks goodness he's starting to improve   blocked bladders are scarey things at the best of times, never mind with his other problems as well. Stress is often a major cause - so it could be the stress of the seizures plus vet visits etc that has affected him this way  have you got some feliway diffusers to plug in ready for when he comes home?

Thank you everyone for all your good wishes for Franta and told him everyone was thinking of him. Still  need the power of the Purrs vibes to help him to continue improving.

I have visited with Franta this morning and spoken to his vet, was there about an hour and although he is improving, he still has a long way to go before being out of the woods.

His levels have come back about a half and he is a little stronger but he needs to improve that much again before it can be judged to be really positive. He ate a bit of the food I took and was really chilled when I left but he was trying to push himself off the table towards me and had his head and kneck off with his head lying on my hand.

He was also gradually snoozing. He is still lying on his side except when he was first brought to me and its obvious that he has a long way to go.

They are taking very good care of him and trying every thing they can, so am just hoping with all my heart that he pulls through. He is still on a drip and has a catheter in.

I asked if they knew why his bladder blocked and its a complete mystery and it wasnt blocked in the true sense cos apparently the catheter went in very easily and Gareth thinks its just a build up of general junk over time and he said it wasnt caused by the marbocyl.

They are regularily testing his levels and just need him to continue in the right direction now.

I am going to visit him again tomorrow and it would be lovely if he had improved some more.

Gill i`m so sorry to hear that Franta is so unwell. I know it is easy for someone else to say but try not to blame yourself in any way. It can be so hard to know what is going on when our pets are sick as they cannot tell us how they are feeling.

I`ll keep my fingers crossed that his condition improves and he can come home to you.

Hoping you receive good news today.

I have just spoken to the vets and the nurse was just doing Franta.

She says he is a tiny little bit improved but his glucose is flat so he is getting some more. He is responsive, which he wasnt when I was there, but he doesnt want to eat.

She said he is probably sore so not unexpected but it will take at least 24 hours to flush the toxins out of his body.

I will be going to visit him tomorrow and so hope he is better than today. Even going in the right direction will be good.

Sending lots of positive vibes for Franta and big   for you Gill.

I'm sorry Franta is so poorly but you haven't let him down.  With his history I bet even the vet would have thought it was just a recurrence of his 'old' problem and wouldn't have spotted the complications any earlier than you did.

Oh  no - keeping everything crossed for Franta that he gets through this.    Of course it's not your fault, Gill.  With everything that's going on you can't always second guess what is going on and you got him to the vets promptly when you realised he wasn't well

Thanks Kerri , yes he is still on a drip, so hope the urine is flushing out the bad stuff to let the good stuff in.

Sadly he is my only lap cat out of the four, one I cant touch and the other two like cuddles but only when they want.

Aww really sorry to hear Franta took a turn for the wors, bless him.
Try not to beat yourself up as you have done nothing wrong and have done everything that a good caring meowmy would do.

It's absolutely awful when something like this happens and it's only natural to doubt yourself, your reaction etc. He is now getting the treatment from the vets and hopefully he'll make a full recovery and be back to annoy you sooner than you think.

Meanwhile you need to get some rest if you can and don't forget your other furry ones are there to cuddle you (if they like cuddles lol).

Lots of urine will hopefully mean no more dehydration... if he's still on a drip then I'd expect that lots of urine is a good sign

Sending you lots of love and hugs, Kerri, Davey and Tinks xx :Luv2:

Thank you for your thoughts all.

I have just spoken to the vets and he isnt much different as far as I can tell  :(

Its emergency services from tonight , I guess till tuesday but am hoping to be able to see him tomorrow but have to ring tomorrow morning.

They are testing his glucose and electrolite levels regularily and he is producing loads of urine, I forgot to ask if that s good,
