They said he was eating and drinking at the vets but he was also on a drip all the time. Its only been removed this morning.

When I said he has not drunk anything, I was told its maybe because he has been on a drip..................but they said he was drinking while he was on the drip.........sigh

He certainly is tired and of course its quiet here for him and nobody prodding and irrating him.

Another sleepless night I guess.......sigh

Thank you, I feel quite down at the moment.

He is lying on the floor near the water dish and so hope he is just exhausted but certainly the team that took over after Alex left were not as good as the others.

He has food stuck to his nose and his arms and neck are a mess. There is still blood on his neck, wasnt there yesterday and just cant get my head round the figures, just hope that Gareth is in tomorrow.

He has used the tray twice more and eaten, dont know if he drank but he went to drink.

His towel stinks like a vets and is in washing machine and it was like he had been put in his carrier and this stinking towel was rolled in a ball and stuck in after him. I had to ask for his big cushion but in the car couldnt get the towle sorted out and didnt know how bad it smelt till wwe got home.

Hoping he's alright.

As you'll know, it's not unusual for a cat to behave oddly after being away from home, especially when they'd had work done, so he may need to adjust.

Hopefully it won't take too long and he'll be back to normal ASAP. I'll be cheering him on.

I'm sure she's got it mixed up Gill and Gareth will be able to put your mind at rest tomorrow.  However,  I can understand how worried you are.

He's probably worn out poor lad after all the excitement.  He's investigated his special places and now he's just chilling out.

If its any consolation, Korky lived quite happily with a creatinine reading of 424, his only symptom at that stage was weeing a lot.  It was only when it approached 500 that he started to show symptoms such as sickness and poor appetite.

The vet finally rung and I need to speak to Gareth tomorrow.

I havent seen a reading from his tests until I was shown one line yesterday and think my memory must have gone completely but it didnt say what it was but am sure the figure on it was 294 and Alex said although it was elevated it was not by much. This seemed to tie in with the creatine figure on his test in Dec.

However Amy says there is no figure like that on his test and the figure she has is nearly 400.

Gareth told me on the second day that his levels had halved and Amy said his original level was over 500 so not sure what figure I am being told!

Amy says that his kidney is damaged but clinically he is fine and its not something can be reversed.

He has only come off the drip today and is not currently drinking although he has used the litter tray twice.

He is now lying on the floor just like he was before he went to the vets so I am now worried about him again.

I just dont know really what the situation is  :(

He is quiet and has not made a peep since arriving home just meowed in the car.

Gill - sorry I have not posted before (unfortunately am quite poorly).

BUT I have been following your thread and sending all the positive vibes I could for your darling Franta.

I am so pleased that he is well enough to be back home with you. Think your vets have been absolute gems.

You are right Lau and everyone has cared for him so well, the visits also help cats and in the early days he was having stuff put into his drips every hour.

I just have to watch him now to make sure he uses the tray and agree that Franta has fought this so well being that he has only one kidney and starts from a point where his levels are higher than normal.

I think his creatine level is about the same as it was but am waiting to hear, he starts from a high level but his fighting spirit does the little man credit, I szooooooooooooooooo love him  ;D

He is home  ;D

He meowed all the way back and I havent even seen him cos he has used the tray and gone straight behind his curtain on sill in front room.

I will leave him and he can then understand that he can go where he wants, this is the place he last was before being confined upstairs last monday in the early hours.................I so wish I hadnt moved him.

So he has no need for stress and am now waiting for the vet to ring.......sigh

Fancy referring to our lovely boy as a girl, no wonder he trashed his cage lol. Hope Growly's op went ok bless her. Keeping those positive vibes going from all of us xx

Just back from vets and Franta has improved again, his levels are still a bit high but they are gonna take the catheter out later and then if his levels have gone down again tomorrow and he is emptying his bladder by himself, he can come home  ;D ;D ;D

He was fully awake today and had trashed his cage but he stayed inthe crouchinf position for a while before he got up and bit me and licked me and cuddled his head to me  ;D

He was trying as hard as posible to get the drip out ands they said that evry so often they get him out of the cage to unravel him cos he turns in circles and tangles the lead up.

Because he is so beautiful they say, they keep referring to him as her,,,,,,,,I am sure he is thoroughly upset at this and his feelings are hurt.  :evillaugh:

I am so gratefful to all of the staff at St James that have looked after him constantly and helped him to improve so much.

Growly I think is called Mabel and they were amputing her leg when I left , so I hope she recovers quickly and is able to stop being Growly.

There were two vets there today doing Growlys op, one is Emma who knows Franta going back to when he first had seizures and waas  transferred there and trained with his original vet at the Gower, and Alex who must be from a different branch. Tomorrow it will be Amie, who I dont know but Alex is going to ring me later after the catheter has been removed.

Thank you again for all your good vibes and yes he is a fighter and with help he has done so well.
