Just back from vets and Frantas levels have gone down so we must be doing something right  ;D

Urea now 19.1 and creatine 334, so the latter only 44 above last dec now  ;D

He has a bit of an urine infection and has had an abs jab for that and Ducha has now been transferred and his notes were faxed through while I was there.

So all in all Franta doing so well since this time last week  ;D

He shouted all the way there and all the time we had to wait and then lay down and chilled all the way home, they are so clever knowing they are coming home. He has had a drink and was lying on my bed.

Gareth said now I can relax for the weekend............WOT!.............me relax .....sigh

I wasnt charged for today which was nice but gonna take 7 months to pay off the bill of £750,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but I am so pleased my little man is improving still and he has got his voice back  ;D ;D

Thank you everyone for you kind thoughts and good vibes, so much appreciated.  ;D

Try not to worry too much about Ducha, we have seen a few wet noses here as well - maybe its the weather/pollen (more like dust in my house  :-[).

Over night he has produced two little nuggets  ;D ;D ;D

Not much for over a week but its a start hopefully.

He drank a mini bit of his milk medicine b ut will try that again tonight, it may just have been a coincidence but hoping whatever it was, its good.

He is eating his food with water in and is going to the tray regularily  doing small puddles rather than what he used to do but Gareth can check tomorrow if he is filling up again.

Ducha his brother is stressed again and has a runny nose so a little bit of cat flu again, have put some bisolven in his food but he didnt eat much.

Thanks Rosella and think you are right about the readings.

With one kidney and at nearly 18 he maybe isnt that bad then. its just he was so much better prior to all of this.

Right now he doesnt look good, not moving good and not acting himself but I reckon he is big time constipated and if so that needs to be resolved unless he will drink some of his milk medecine which may help.

Awww Gill,That's how Orbit was right before he went, the vet tried to give him meds to help pass his poo's but they didn't work & when he finally went,he had a fit & passed away before my eye's so I know & feel what you're going thru.

Big hugs.

It must have been so alarming to hear the very high reading of 900 for Createnine Gill  :(

As at yesterday when he came off the drip to come home his urea was approx 22 and creatine was 356 so much higher than it was back in dec.

As you know, Fred's kidneys not very good Gill.  Just for info I believe that createnine levels are the more important of the 2 results to watch out for.

Fred's last tests in Feb were very similar to Franta's current levels ... only very marginally higher.  Fred seems to be pretty chipper considering.  However I remember Mark mentioning how he had learnt to judge how Clapton's health was doing more by ref to his appearance and behaviour rather than blood results.  Trust your instincts   Franta probably needs to adjust a bit to being home and very much hope he settles better overnight tonight

He is going back on Thursday to see Gareth and his bloods will be tested again to see how being off the drip has affected him. If the levels have reduced some more that will be great but if they have gone up then Gareth said he will discuss what can be done to try and help him.

Very much hope he improves before then

Well that sounds much more helpful, to be working with that knowledge Gill.  His figures were very high when he was admitted, and although his progress is not as good as I know you'd like, it's a clear improvement.  Will be keeping pace with his progress, and sending both of you much love, as you know.

Gareth has rung and Frantas kidney levels are much higher than back in Dec but a lot less than  when he was taken in on Thursday.

In Dec 10 his Urea was 13.9 and slightly high
creatine was 290 and slightly high

it was considered for his age and with one kidney this was good

When he was admitted last thursday all his levels were off the scale ures was about 40 and creatine was over 900 and he was very ill and fighting for his life.

As at yesterday when he came off the drip to come home his urea was approx 22 and creatine was 356 so much higher than it was back in dec.

The big jump down was in the first 24 hrs but although I had been told he was improving every day, it wasnt a lot, especially in the last 24 hrs there cos his creatine only dropped by about 20.

Franta is not a happy little man at present, which maybe partly down to coming home but dont think he is feeling wonderful and the worry is his lack of drinking. Am going to add water to his food but dont want to stop him eating.

He is going back on Thursday to see Gareth and his bloods will be tested again to see how being off the drip has affected him. If the levels have reduced some more that will be great but if they have gone up then Gareth said he will discuss what can be done to try and help him.

All these bloomin holidays are really messing things up cos from Friday through to Tuesday the vets will be closed again for the second long weekend in a row.

I am waiting for Gareth to ring me.

He has used the tray once over night, well not so long ago. He is eating but havent seen him drink, but he may have.

He is not himself and really need to know those levels.
