I have Helen and he not interested in anything, I also think his mouth likely to be very dry........they kept telling me he was eating at the vets but he hasnt really been eating at all, maybe a lick of something and that was it!

According to the lectade, he shouldnt be eating or drinking but the amount of water he had was minimal but still cant get it made up until vet rings.

He is not lying on his side anymore, but think I will be soon!

I need food too

If he's not been eating properly he probably feels a bit sick from hunger, maybe you could try and tempt him with something smelly to start him off

He has just drank a mini bit of water but cant get him to touch food but he is now downstairs in front room.

Still waiting for vet to ring.

Bloomin Misa is going around hoovering up Frantas dishes but he was nice and gave Franta a head lick................more than Ducha would do.

His eyes not looking too bad at moment but its just they dont follow my fingers at all, he is just staring. The vet said he had a bit of movement but I didnt see any!

No where to get optrix on a sunday night and even if there was I dont want to leave him at the moment.

I just wish they would ring, cant see me getting 10 ml into him at all, let alone every hour

I am waiting for the vet to ring cos dont know how to store this once made! My house is too hot for it.

Franta is just lying on his side at top of stairs and am still sure he cant really see.

He hasnt been to the tray in last couple of hours either and cant find anywhere he has had accident.

He just lies with his eyes open all the time and I am starting to panic

Oh Gill my heart goes out to you both.
If it is anything like may other small animals I find it best to gently swaddle in a towel so onlt the head sticks out then put the syringe in the side of the mouth and ease a little in at a time while supporting the head up to get them to swallow.
With hamsters the addition of a little honey plus a pinch of salt can help provide energy and balance the fluids in the body but I'm not sure about cats.
I am so hoping he starts to pick up soon. Have a little talk and ask him what he wants to do. I think he will tell you xxx

Gill, have you any Lectade or Aviproplus ?
I use that if one of mine has been sick and won''t eat ,i do it how Snarf said , just gently put the syringe in the side of the mouth and let the liquid trickle and he will drink it -i was told by the vet when Smartie was really ill one night to do it every 2 hours about 2ml.

Poor Franta,  :( :( i am sure once he has settled and you have got some liquid in him and i would do the same with the liquid food too -he will start to feel better .
As long as he knows you are with him ,it will help him too .

Poor Franta  Hope he starts recovering now hes at home

syringing water- i think a few drips at a time would be best, easier to swallow and less chance of discomfort. if hes lying on his side you can drip onto the lip/side of mouth and the instinct is to lick- used to work with a hamster i had.

I hope Franta will be happier now he is home, but as you point out he will probably find the vet visit unsettling   I hope he will eat something as I know how distressing it is and, if you are like me, how desperate and anxious you get when they ignore the food

Just found the duvet on the sofa wet, so he must have an accident before he went upstairs..........poor lil man.

I do hope you are right and once he settles in his own house he will pick up..........problem is he needs to go back to the vets tomorrow morning.

Just gonna pop up and see him................Misa has been in here and eaten Frantas food grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Franta is home but not good and am not sure how well he can see.

I have tried 4 foods but he doesnt want them and have been given something to mix with water to syringe into him every hour if he doesnt drink.

He came into the front room in the carrier and got out and then cried and cried. I have put a litter tray in here for him but after a while he left and went up stairs but didnt make it to the top before he had an accident. Pretty sure he was going up there for his litter tray, still in same place but he jsut didnt make it.

He is currently lying on my bed which is covered in puppy pads and is being watched by Sasa.

I am leaving him alone at the moment to see if he will sleep but the real worry is dehydration and lack of food.

My poor poor boy  :(

Bless him he must be so miserable not being at home. Hopefully he will start to pick up once he is back with you and his bruv. It's so hard when they are sensitive souls, I'm sure Hobbes would be the same as he gets upset very easily so I sympathise tremendously, with you.Give him a big gentle kiss from me xxxx

When Smartie is having one of his "sicky " days , he will lick food from my fingers and that encourages him to eat a bit more .

I am just having a snack and then will be back to vets to get him.

Thanks bungly, he is on Futh....... eye drops now but will question Gareth about his eyes tomorrow cos I had pointed out they werent good a few days ago and its Katie that has taken notice but only yesterday.

They have tried syringing food into him but I think they learnt thats not a runner with him because he gets so upset and is such a sensitive soul that this type of thing really gets to him.

I am so hoping that he will perk up when he is home and am taking some felix with me to see if he will have a little jelly nosh but will have to be careful how much food he has, if he will eat, little and often.

Its all very worrying because he should have been much better by now.

Have you any Optrex for his eyes -that will help them , diluted in small amount of cool boiled water - should be able to get that from most places .
I use it on Pandoras eyes most days .
