the place my bengal came from had the kittens running around in the lounge and the mum cat in a room upstairs (where I assume the kittens were normally) - dad was in a pen - I just wasn't sure what was normal

The place I got my cats from let the cats choose indoors or outside in the heated cat pens.  The husband brought two of the cats in to meet me and once they'd said hello for a few strokes they were both pawing at the door wanting to be back outside!

I visited 5 or 6 times and most of the cats seemed to shuffle themselves around

How terrible  >:(  it was obviously a targeted attack, has there been a slightly too interested visitor for kittens maybe?

as an aside - and in no way meant to be offensive, I just really don't have a clue - is it normal for breeders to keep animals in outside pens?

Some breeders keep their cats indoor only, some keep their cats indoors but have an outside run that the cats can go out into as and when they want and others make their
cats stay out in pens all the time  :(  It's usually the poor stud boys that get the rough deal of being forced to live outside all the time whether they want to or not poor things :(

I think when people are looking at buying a pedigree kitten as well as seeing the Mum and kittens they should ask to see all the adult cats that the breeder owns and any outside cat runs so they can see how the cats live/interact.

Our Bengal breeder has some of the cats in outside pens but the security is unbelievable and you would have to actually go through the house to get to the pens.

I really hope that these cats are safe  :(

I'd recognise the sister of my two cats if a picture of her is posted but the fact they aren't microchipped is sad :(

I'm really surprised this hasn't been in our local papers as she runs a rescue as well (where I got my two from) and I'm sure I read that a similar thing happened last year.   She's a lovely lady and I hope she finds them all soon.  Fortunately the snow and bad weather hasn't hit us as hard as the rest of the country so if they have only been let out then they hae a chance at surviving.

A great shame the cats are not microchipped as if they do appear on the internet, papers etc there's no way of proving that they are her cats  :(

I hope all the cats are safe and well especially the little kittens with this awfully cold weather we're having.

I recognized the photo and the brown tabby and white girl (Pussy Willow) is the sister of my two  :(  Her and Nova look so alike!  :'(

How odd that she was named Mia by her human too.

I was going to post this on here as it's been on several cat fancy boards that I'm a member of, but IM's gotten to it first. The lady's cat runs were cut open while she was away.

Unfortunately, the cats are not chipped but here is a run down of the cats that are missing:

Stud Boys - Blue & White Red Tabby & White
Male 6 months old Black & White Kitten

Female Neuters - Black & White

Queens
Blue Tortie & White Red Tabby & White Tortie Smoke & White White
Tortie Silver Tabby & White Brown Tabby & White

and one tortie & white who is a little kitten who was the runt of the litter
plus two semi long hair moggies - one red, one blue and white.

How awful for your friend.  People make me sick when they see animals as commodoties to be stolen.  Hopefully, as they are chipped, they will be found safe and sound.  Bet the poor little mites are terrified.

Just heard that a breeder of NFC's has had her cats stolen :(

here is the message I was sent

Quote

Hi all,

Just heard that 12, maybe 13 Norwegian Forest Cats have been stolen from the Chelkesi cattery in the Darwen area of Lancashire last night. Their owner was out for a few hours in the evening babysitting for her daughter - when she came back, all of the cat pens were empty. Only one oldie in the house is left.... Maureen lives by herself and is obviously devastated.

Please pass this message on to as many cat friends as you can to raise awareness - the cats may start appearing on the internet/local papers/Loot etc. - I'm hoping it's not something more sinister.

Many thanks in advance*ยดยจ)

they went missing around the 7th Feb, I hope they are found soon.  Maureen is understandably distraught over losing her babies
