I was up at FoalFarm yesterday and met this wonderful boy. He is really handsome and feed up with waiting for a new home.
Foal are desperate to find him a home
Rupert is a 7yr old tabby neutered male cat. He is a bit of a character. He came to Foal in January last year for being aggressive towards the new baby in the house.
He is originally from New York, where he was de-clawed, (a common practice in the USA). We trod carefully around Rupert until we got to know him better, and although he is a bit unpredictable, we never really had any major problems.
When a home eventually came up for him we were very pleased that he was getting a second chance. Unfortunately it was not to be and he came back the next day for attacking his new owners arm!
This was probably due to him feeling very frightened and defensive, so here he is again! He is fine with other cats, and as for humans it seems to be on his terms only. He will come to you if he wants a fuss, and is not really keen on being molly-coddled. We dont feel that he will do well as a farm cat because he loves company, he is just a bit of a grumpy man! Do you feel that you could take him on? He is a great character and has been here for far too long.
RUPERT UPDATE: Rupert was fostered by a lady for a month and successfully settled in and showed no aggression his new owner then introduced him to her existing cats and Rupert did not get along with them the new owner was absolutely devastated as everything had gone so well with Rupert up until the cat to cat introduction. So here he is once again but we have learned a lot from his month away, we have learned he is quite happy to adapt to a new home and leave his aggression at the door we just know now that he must be rehomed as an only cat. If you are interested in meeting Rupert please contact the cat team for a chat.
