Multi cat households - toilet behaviour

Nobody else tell them apart by smell, size, colour, texture etc? - am I the only one?   

See this is my point to my Hubby, I can tell by all these things and have been known to stick my nose close to the tray and finger in if necessary

Joking aside, its extremely useful to know who produces what - if something "untoward" shows up in the litter tray you can deal with any problem that cat may have without having to check on the health of all of them 

I was a little worried as I noticed Mr T going to his litter tray today, but just sitting and staring with no "results"- then I realised that Id left a bottle to dry on the window sill, the sun was catching it and there were pretty shadows right by the litter tray.  Mr T was simply enjoying the light-show!

Even with 42 using litter trays have to say we know who does what and in which tray and who uses the clay clumping, paper or wood pellet litter trays and of course Minmin uses the bidet and Jester the bath!

I can also tell who does what outside in the doggie department to!

Good point as I can't smell wee in OKO but if a cat had weed somewhere they shouldn't have, I can always tell. Catsan stank to high heaven when Clapton used it.

Wee wise, I can usually tell due to location and the fact that Jaffa rarely covers.  But otherwise, one pee clump looks much like another!  Poo wise, I can usually tell but if it is covered with litter then it is somewhat harder! (and not something I fret about  )

I can tell who's wee is who by the position in the tray it has been done in - they each have a side that they wee in.

Their poos are easy too - Ollie's aren't so smelly and he covers them, Harvey stinks to high heaven and doesn't cover them.

Both Chloe & Mr T do the "litter tray dash" after a poo but Chloe's is more sedate - she runs up the hall from the kitchen, jumps onto the bed and bounces about. 

Mr T races out of the kitchen, throwing litter in all directions. 

He then rushes into the front room, does a couple of laps (which may well involve jumping straight over the sofa back and crash landing on the floor) and then sits and washes himself very vigorously.  If we have visitors he will choose the best place for everyone to see him, then proceed to have one of his,  erm - "very intimate" washes.  They fascinate my friends little granddaughter .....

Well, litter tray deposits are easy to tell apart chez Casa Witty.

Toby's wees are ocean-sized and the clump that wants scooping out is the size of a hot cross bun. You know a poop is Toby's because it's man-sized and he never covers it. 

Pearl's piddles and poops are considerably more dainty. Ah, and she covers them well too. This is one lady who can dig for England, mind.

You are not the onlly one - I just hdnt gone into that amount of detail   Chloe's are smaller and drier - T's are the complete opposite.  As to wee - although both have been neutered Mr T's are definitely more odiferous. 
This remind me of when I worked in an Old Peoples Home and the dreaded "Bowel Book" where everything was (sorry for the pun" logged

Yes I can - Oscar is always the smelliest and the longest lol! Edgar buries his more and they tend to be more frequent and therefore less grotesque ...sometimes I think Oscar was an Alsation dog in his former life. His can also be two diff colours ....ok enough info but dont worry thats not just you!

well if its a wee out the door of the tray that will be Tilly, Oscar does huge ones just inside the door, Star prefers the gravel by the conservatory and Amber not sure about

Oh yes ! - we always joke that Chloe is a little lady, who has "tinkles and poops" whereas Mr T definitely has "dumps and leaks"  - at least in the right place, these days!!   Oh, dear

I can usually tell with poos and most wees from where they are in the litter tray !
Smartie right at back , Sophie in Middle , Bungle at the side , FiFi does a great big one every time ,so it the biggest of all , Winston goes outside !

I always know Beavis' coz he 'pees and goes' where the others bury theirs!

Generally I can't but Lexie and Purdey tend to only use the front of the tray whereas the others use the middle and back.

I can tell with their "number twos" but not the other. Although Old Mog nearly always picks the non covered cat tray and pees over the back of it so generally I know that's hers!

mine all go outside to wee and poo so the answer is no.  i can with the kittens but only cos Mouse uses the tray and Merlin uses the bath

I can and my Husband can't he thinks they are all the same but they aren't. I just wondered whether its me.
