Stupid woman   >:(

I wouldn't hold my tongue (or fingers if forum) either.

I haven't had a younger cat in years - I admit I'd forgotten what they can be like and how much energy they have when magnus arrived in the garden at just under a year - and I admit, I could quite happily shut him in a room (I don't, I hasten to add) when he wakes me in the morning - his favourite methods being jumping on me off the wardrobe (which is about twelve feet high), or biting my nose....

...But I don't think I'd want to change it - he's lovely, just bouncy and full of energy.

2nd hand cat   :scared:   I despair.  Most of what I had as a kid was 2nd hand...

I have to admit Charlie came as quite a culture shock to me as my previous cats (RIP all three of you) were obviously much more sedate.  Yes he gets on my nerves sometimes but seeing him on his happy days having his mad half hour and being generally mischievous makes me feel good inside.  I agree Mrs R you should stop biting your lip!

Why would you want a 2nd hand cat?"

What a strange view. How can any living thing be "2nd hand?"

Agreed!!  She is a neighbour of mine, forever turning things out of her home as they are no longer fashionable, or "look used"  - thinking about it, I wonder if the poor soul isnt really very well .....

I wonder if she only met older cats before?

I have the thought that maybe she wanted "nice, new cats". (Someone I know ,who knows  I have had rescues, said to me "OOh, Yuck!! Why would you want a 2nd hand cat?"  No hope there!!!)  Of course, "Nice, new cats" are likely to be young and boisterous and FUN!! :briggin:

She is moaning and has moaned for days now about her young cats running around, knocking things over, getting under her feet - general cats being cats and its driving me insane

I would say as we all know that is typical behaviour. When I take in kittens and young cats I just see it as a timely remainder as to why I don't want to adopt young ones. I have to say I do breath a sigh of relief when they have have been homed  but don't moan about them.

Silly cow!  I wouldn't be able to stop myself from pointing out that cats are living, breathing mischief makers and she should be very pleased to have them.

I wouldn't bite my tongue I'm afraid ... I'd point out the facts to her .. that this is what cats do ... put up with it or find the poor little darlings a home.  What a dozy mare she sounds!!
