In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

I think it is real as there was another link showing a kitten with its poor little ears weighed down by prince albert type rings  >:(

The worrying comment was that the kittens and cat will be examined to see if they are suitable for rehoming  :(

My cousin is also a goth who also has cats, he would never get his pierced.

I think that saying 'get his [cats] pierced' is a dangerous way to express it, 925.  'He would never mutilate his cats' would be a better way of putting it, IMHO.

True, was typing quick, should have said he would never dream of inflicting such unnecessary abuse on his furries.

 :thanks:, 925

Being classed as "alternative" myself I'm sickened by the thought of people finding this appealing.

Hear hear (although I look rather normal now I've gotten rid of the purple and pink hair  :shy:)

People like her are why people who are a bit alternative get such a hard time.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/3830976/Heavens-angels-The-tattooed-bikers-of-Rescue-Ink-are-unlikely-animal-rescue-experts.html

wonder what these guys would make of it!!

Aw, Dawn, thank you for posting this.  :) I have always said Hells Angels, although some of them can be horrid, are mostly actually decent and misunderstood folks who have a code of honour to make some people ashamed of themselves.  :briggin: My fail father once had a fall while out shopping and passing Hells Angels put him in their sidecar and took him to A&E - they even waited until I arrived to take over.  :Luv:

As for the kittens, are we sure this isn't urban legend?  :shify: The cruelty involved is insane to the point of being unbelievable, of course, but I can't believe anyone would be daft enough to think a kitten becomes more saleable covered in iron mongery.  :-: Most goths I know are gentle souls and even many are veggie and they would never consider buying mutilated kittens.  >:(

Mind you, I had a gothic pal who had her Furby pierced - paid a fortune for jewelry for it too!  :evillaugh:

I haven't clicked through to read this stuff - I take it that it will be possible to restore the kittens to full health with veterinary intervention?  I certainly hope so.

They should heal up just fine, maybe some scar tissue would remain  >:(

have you read the cooments about double standards at the bottom? 'we tag cows, so why is that ok?' kind thing

Personally I have never seen a cow jumping, climbing, scratching its ear with a hind leg... so very little chance of a tag causing any problems, but I would imagine on an agile creature like a cat or dog they would cause huge problems

Urgh, thats disgusting. I have a lot of mates that people would class as "goths" and they would NEVER go for anything like this! They all love animals as much as me, what a sick thing to do!

100% agree!!  Below, my daughter and her cats ..... :)

I would think piercings will heal on a cat as they would a human. Of course, a cat could easily accidentally rip out an earring or the like. The woman is a moron and I'm glad she got caught.

Being classed as "alternative" myself I'm sickened by the thought of people finding this appealing.

Typical human vanity - seeing the cat as an extension or accessory, rather than a little individual.
