Sweepy joined us on 19th December 1997 from Cats Protection, 11 years ago today. His Daddy has been building a new scratching post for Sweepy and his friends, which we hope will be completed today. We will be celebrating with a prawn party – Sweepy’s favourite
We would just like to reassure people that anything is possible with a little patience.
Sweepy has decided, after 10 years and 11 months of never wanting to be a cuddlebum that becoming a lap cat might not be such a bad thing after all. Ever since his evil Meowmy
locked him indoors during the weeks of Halloween and Guy Fawkes, after the odd hour or 2 of attempting to destroy the back door
he eventually gave in and decided to sit on my lap each evening. He started with just the 2 front paws resting over one of my legs, and his bum on the sofa, but now he has graduated to all of him curled into a ball on my lap. Now he even tries to get on my lap when Tommy is already on it. It can get a little crowded sometimes.
Could someone please explain to my OH, that after waiting nearly 11 years for these moments, I will not be shifting Sweepy off my lap to get up to go to bed, but I will stay sitting with him until he decides he has had enough, whenever that may be?
