Fortunately Ela I only have to send out around 30ish twice a year. I should really start writing them out now for next time!!

I can sometimes see why - my first cat came from someone who's mum died and he didn't care about the cat, despite her being such a big part of her life, he left her out in all weathers (she was 14) and in the end told my neighbour either she sorted it or he would microwave her, so she was much better off with me than him. Some people just dont like cats enough to take them on, I would struggle, as none of my family could take mine - my mum likes cats, but lives on a busy road. I sometimes think it is much better they admit they can't/wont keep them than take them out of a sense of duty and not give the cat the best life.

Glad the family are doing the right thing by her cat, I don't understand how people can not want a pet that was so loved by their relative - a living memory really.

nor I it is part of the family.
Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

A refreshing change from the usual story.

Thats nice, um fortunately I could not do that as we send out between 400 - 500 newsletters twice a year and my hand would drop off.

When I send out our newsletters, I always do a handwritten compliment slip/letter with them, each one is personal to that family. I had a phone call this morning to thank me for one of them that I sent to her mum, but she sadly passed away in August. What made it sweet was the fact that the woman's son in law was adamant that her cat was going to stay with them regardless, it is so nice to hear of someone keeping the family pet, she adopted him shortly after losing her husband, as she was finding things difficult, and he made such a big difference to her life, so I am glad he will stay in the family, we picked him up as a stray, and he was so affectionate that he will have struggled with losing his mum anyway, so especially nice for him to stay with people he knew. It's a shame we only here the negative in these tales, as I am sure there are lots more people who do it, we just dont hear about them.
