well folks we have a mixture of good and bad news for Monday & Penny.
In short the vet agrees with me that they are waaaaayyyyyyy older than 10 yrs old and would put penny most definately in her late teens and Monday not far behind, if at all.
On an up note... their tests have shown negative for FeLV & FIV which is a relief.
Both Monday & Penny however have quite severe heart murmers (sp?)
Their general blood works have shown varying levels but all within the accepted range and nothing too dramatic to worry about.
Penny has been confirmed as suffering from Hyperthryroidism,
which I suspected would be the case to be honest and the vet feels that Monday is a potential Hyperthyroidism case waiting to happen so have to monitor him closely for further signs.
We are just waiting on Penny's T function test results to be returned and then we can work out how best to manage her condition / medication.
so all in all not brilliant news but not as bad as it could have been! Both are now safely back with mum resting and getting over their ordeal with nasty Auntie Sarah!!!
I have a feeling however that mum will be spoiling them the next few days... she's got rather attached to this duo as they have such a sweet little nature and not a bad bone in their wee bodies.
I think for this duo it will be a long term foster place for them either with mum if she can manage them or trying to find someone who is willing to take them on with our support.
