Thank you for all the help. I had a fantastic day trip to Kent and I was spoiled rotten by Sharon.

I liked Gerry's new home so much, I wanted them to adopt me as well.

Gerry went to his new home yesterday, and i met Martha from Haws for lunch. We had a good chat and it would seem that HAWS does a fab job with rehoming but as most of us know is always financially on a knive edge. I hope that Martha will post more as they currently have over 60 kittens stil in there care.

All fab rescue networking and all down to Purrs !

I will check with the more senior members and get back to you. I am also prepared to travel to find him a nice home,  but I do not want to go against any policies in my charity. I have only been fostering for HAWS since the beginning of this year, and this has never come up in this time.

Do you wish me to enquire.. ? He would have outside access? Do HAWS allow cats to be rehomed outside their area with CP homechecks..

She sounds a lovely lady.. big house and a nice area of Faversham..

But of course she does have kiddies and of the rd, but of course you know him more then we all do.. he does look very dignafied gent!

He has not left my flat(foster cat), but his previous owner(senior person that went into care) stated that he did not go far when he went to the garden. He does not like load noises(runs away and hides around the corner), but he did come out to meet my friends kids and played with them when they threw him his squeaky mouse. He sleeps most of the day, but he has mad sessions of play for 15-30 minutes x2-3 times a day.
He likes expensive food............and I buy it for him..........

He did escape from my flat twice on to the 3rd floor balcony. He sat in front of the door for days waiting for another smoker to come along.......he misses going out.

Does Gerry get on with kiddies.. ? (see my post about Faversham people offering a home!  They do have another cat and a garden but they live not far from a main road. So it depends if he just strolls around gardens are wonders far

A friend just met Gerry and she is of the opinion that he is a Main Coon. I am sorry that I gave out the wrong info on Gerry. Who knows what he is?

He is a lovely cat that needs a home with a garden!!!!

At present he is laying about on the floor next to me calling for me to stroke him. His preferences are his head, neck, throat and back.

He eats his indoor grass and he has never had a hairball since May 08 when he arrived. He seems to be able to groom himself very well. I sometimes cut a little dreadlock from his neck area. I have tried several brushes and gloves. He hates all of them. He is a very picky eater that does not do treats, so he can not be persuaded to be brushed at all. He only sheds/moulds minimally.

Gerry is such a lovely old gentleman. He looks like a 8 year old and he acts like a kitten when he plays.

Gerry has been fostered since late May 2008. He is a lovely old cat that is really missing his daily wonders outside in the garden. He is very good in the house. Does not jump up on any of the kitchen surfaces and he has never been through the bin. He is a picky eater that will only eat James Wellbeloved dry and Applaws fish and Gourmet Solitaire wet food. He does like to sleep next to us on the bed or on the carpet in front of the bed.

15 yr (Main Coon X - )- HAWS- Found a forever home for XMAS!!!!
« Reply #1 on: November 15, 2008, 09:31:34 AM »
Gerry is 15 years old although he doesn't look it and is in very good condition, needing no medication. He is a semi-long haired boy, brown/grey tabby and white and on the large side. He likes to go outside to do his ablusions and have a quick wonder, but is quite happy to sit indoors. He loves being made a fuss, but is not a lap cat. His owner had him vaccinated, fleaed and wormed regularly. Gerry has lived with another cat and small dogs in the past.

Update from new foster home: Got onto the sofa and demanded a scratch behind the ears from day one. He is active for his age even playing like a kitten with toys for sort periods every day. Although he obviously likes a spot on the couch best. When he hears any packet rustle you have his full attention as he seems dead set on not missing out any meals. (Even persuading my husband that I forgot to feed him.)

Christmas message from Gerry
I would please like to tell you about the home I would like for Christmas. Published models like me (see my stunning November HAWS calender shot) do not ask for much. All I need is a scratch behind my ears, a tasty food combination of wet and dry (get the menu from my current personal assistants), some well deserved play time with my squeaky mice(I am a talkative boy that will call you to play with me), a garden and a warm bed (carpet next to your bed wil do)  to sleep on. Please do not let my age or my semi-long hair put you off, my gray hair and maturity makes me even sexier (see fellow A-listers). I do not get hairballs and I hate being groomed. I like feet and will lick your toes and shoes. I have a few teeth missing, but you can hardly notice. No need to phone a friend, just contact HAWS and adopt me. Thank you and Seasons greetings.
