I have to say, I found some of their comments ridiculous. I know we always have to put the cats first at all time but to have rigid rules is stupid. They also asked me ages of children as they don't rehome to under 5's - they also asked me what your postcode was as they don't home to certain postcodes

- I know from first-hand experience that my parents didn't have a "pot to p in" whenI was growing up on a council estate but our house was always spotless, full of clean, well mannered, well fed kids and pampered animals - so to "tar with the same brush" is ridiculous.

I think kids that are brought up from a young age with animals are ones the grow up to be animal loving adults. Pets in our house were always he & she - never "it". Our dog Tipsy that my mum only took on due to a neighbour planning to PTS was given a bowl of tea and a bowl of porridge in the morning the same as us!!

I went to see the kittens today

Mummy cat is beautiful

she has 2 black and white kittens, 1 ginger, 1 white & ginger and 1 black one

all totally gorgeous.
Ginger kitty has found a new home and so has the white & ginger and the black one as a pair.
It was really hard to choose between the 2 b&w cats, but I have chosen the one with a spot under her chin.

Need to get Mischief neutered before new kitty is allowed to come home

I have given my views to the RDM covering our area to speak to the RDM in that area. Its stupid !! I am sure they are living in the dark ages!!

May be to late for Pearl but may be sometning that can be addressed by this branch in future.

The chap in the pet shop said that most rescues here have the children over 5yrs policy too, so pretty stuck either way really

Possible new kitty sounds promising though. No idea what colours or sex they are. Cindi said that she's not looked under their tails yet

Little update for you all.

Looks like Pearl is definitely a no go

Paws were supposed to get back to me today re a homecheck, they might contact me tomorrow

But....
I went into my pet shop this morning for my guinea pig bits. I always stop to chat to the owner about the animals and mentioned that I was after another cat for Mischief. This afternoon, bless him, he phoned me up and said that someone had just been in who had just started a rescue and gave me her number.

Well a cat with 7/8 week old kittens was taken in by her on Saturday. Cat & kittens doing very well and will be available in a few weeks

I'm going to have a look at them tomorrow.
