My nanna sends pouches every so often for the cats, there was a single sale felix chicken pouch in the selection this time round that is different to the multipack ones, a clear jelly not hard and cloudy, may be worth trying them for him.

If its a small piece of tape on his hair i would carefully snip it off with small round ended facial scissors.

It's the same with Whiskas. Clapton and Alice love the singles but when I bought a poultry multipack, they wouldn't touch he chicken ones

;D  Gill, am so pleased he sounds like he's feeling a lot better.  With regard to the sticky plaster, I'd leave him be for now - just let him get used to being back home again, happy in his house and doing what he loves doing.

So glad he is eating and moving around a lot by the sound of it.  Make sure he stays de-stressed.  :Luv2:

Bet you are feeling tonnes better too, hope so.

RE: Plaster - if it was a human I would suggest vasaline or olive oil but with a cat......... not sure, maybe just some warm water and try scrapig it off with your finger nails.  Good luck.

Well, he has has some jelly off the food, a biscuit or two and he  now refers the kd ones!!

So has had two small lots of jelly and a couple of biscuits but he wanted to eat and was shouting, so thats better than before. He needs to eat loads more but I reckon as he de-stresses he will  :shify: :shify:

Tonight he can have roast chicken if he likes, cos bought one on my galivant to Cardiff today.

All that rain and the bowl only cought about a bloomin inch!!

He is currently up on the desk watching the door....prob been aslepp all day LOL but I reckon once ABs get out of his system that will also help.

He obviouslt was also causing trouble with his drip at the vet cos it looks like they had to actually sticj the tube to his leg! He hasa a tiny bit of plaster stuck to hios leg which Rachel said he wouldnt let her get off and I cant, it seems stuck fast to his skin......any ideas how to get it off?

Spoke too soon he is back on his cushion by radiator!

Fingers crossed he starts eating today. It might be worth trying Whiskas cat milk rather than the stuff from the vets, he might prefer the taste.

Sleep is good Gill - it will help to relax and heal him because he probably hasn't slept properly while he was away - strange smells, strange place, not feeling great....    Am sending big tummy rubs for Ole Blue Eyes this morning and Paddy sends a gentle whiskery PPprrfffffpt to his mate.

No he has not eaten anything at all and is fast asleep.

I wonder when I should be worried.

I think he must have been stressed all weekend and thats exhausting I am sure.

Its good that he's slept Gill, he's recharching his batteries! Has he eaten anything yet?

Smudge used to love gravy - how about trying him with that Gill, he will only have to lick it up, no chewing (unless you do lumpy gravy!!)  :naughty:  Or some fish boiled in milk.

Come on Franta - frame yourself my young man.  :Luv2:

I do not think Franta has eaten since he came home, just slept.

I tried cat milk last week Liz, the vet gave me some and he just sniffed and walked away, as did the big cats!

None of mine will eat defurrum or catalax and if i put it on their legs they leave it their and you know what happens then!!

I am hoping that he will be hungry later and the problem is if he refuses to eat then he will have to go back, they will pump valium into him which apparently makes them go for the food dish and eat everything in sight and then he had a massive accident from both ends.

He had only just come off the drip before I brought him home and he has been on one ever since Friday but he really wasnt eating at the vets they said!

Nice to know someone else has cats that wreck vets surgeries when they feel they have been there way to long!  Welcome home Franta :Luv2:

The only advice I can give is to try human food, kitten food or anything else you can think of we have used all the above techniques with the fur kids and some work for each one but not all the same and try 10 seconds in the micro wave to warm the food through also try cat milk not the best thing but its liquid and has some calories I know Sweetie would only eat that and Purina biscuits when she came home from having 3 teeth removed at 16 and Miss Gracie was similar except she was a kitten foos and milk addict at 19 when she had her remaining teeth pulled.

Clio A Feral aged 9 lost 5 teeth last week and duly ignored all the nice soft food and crunched biscuits within 20 mins of coming home!

So pleased to hear that he is home Gill.  Have you tried him with katalax to see if that helps with any remaining furballs or the "De-furr-Um past, Forest loves that and will lick that up before eating anything else.

Hope his appetite will improve now he is home again.

Just come home with Franta  ;D ;D ;D ;D

He has not been a good patient and as I walked into the vets I could hear him shouting and he started all the other cats off!

He is still not eating well apparently but Rachel wants him to come home cos she thinks he is so stressed by being there this is not helping. There is no medical reason for him not eating that they know of and if he will not eat at home, they will have to give him more valium to try and kick start him.

She showed mr the fur ball he brought up on Friday    For him that was small  :shify:

He doent really have kidney problems but just one kidney that probably doesnt work much but he does need to drink more to keep hydrated.

They are gonna send the xrays to Bristol for advice but then that will have to be weighed against his age, his breed and the effect of GA etc.

At present there apparently is no reason to be concerned but if the other kidney starts to deteriate we will have to deal with that. She says if it does it will go in stages, so just not bang and failure.

I have told her we must do what is right for Franta bearing in mind his age and I wouldnt want for a major procedure to happen if this is gonna cause so many bad effects , it out weighs the good and she agrees. She also is now aware of his little mentality and what a little horror he can be LOL

This morning in his temper he has wrecked his cage, tipped his water bowl over, and his food and his litter tray and was just endlessly shouting. He didnt want to be there and made that very clear. He shouted and scratched his carrier all the way home and has gone outside straightaway to check his garden and assert his independence.

We go back on Thursday unless I am 100% happy with him but if there is aproblem before that he is to go straight back.

I think he still has a fur ball cos he was trying to be sick out side.

So now I just watch and wait and hope he will bloomin eat!

I am however so please to have his blue lookin peepers gazing at me agian and have him home.....Misa doesnt agree
