I think that is the reason too - but there isn't that much difference between the two ages of kittens, and the older two are that bit more hardy. The other problem we have is that everyone ringing up seems to want females, and we only have male kittens. Sometimes people think that if they get a male they will spray and you can sometimes persuade people, but one of the ones wants a ginger female, apparently her cats dont like males, even though the only ones they have met were adults, so a kitten would be different. T'other hasn't responded to me, so I can't even try and persuade her

So sorry these two can't be found a home just yet, Desley.  Also can't understand the total desire for a tiny kitten.  They're lovely, yes, but I think sometimes people believe that unless they get the kittens from being tiny, they won't be able to "mould" them - of course, anyone who's ever had a cat knows they don't take kindly to moulding anyway, and will only mould if they want to! 

The little elderly blind cat sounds a love, bless her.

Its sad when they grow up in care 
My youngsters are 2 and still zoom around just like they are 12 weeks old, even 12 year old stray plays everyday, all cats are still kittens in their minds 

What with age and colour discrimination i wonder why people bother going to a rescue, a supermarket could sell them a banana thats just the right shade of yellow, isnt more then 15cms in length and is under 7 days old

Trouble is if you do that they may not get their 'ops' soon enought. Not to  long ago we had loads of littens that were 6 - 8 months before we finally homed them. In fact we still have one 8 month old looking for a home and has been since it was 8 weeks old.

I was talking to the rescue Mabel came from yesterday, and her advice was to say they are 16 weeks, people dont always twig then apparently!! I couldnt' lie about not knowing their age, as if they took him, I would have to fill the adoption paper in with his age and when he should be neutered.  I wish people would realise that kittens grow incredibly quickly, and are still very kittenish at 4months old, but suppose that is life really.

I much prefer cats around the ages of three or four, so have no idea why kittens are the preference!

its always a bit dodgy when someone says 'as young as possible'. I wouldn't dismiss them totally offhand but they would certainly have to impress me.

Cant understand them I dont think people realise what their taking on, they just go for the cute factor. Ive never had a cat under six months and wouldnt really want to cos then you  have to go through all that litter training malarkie no thanks

that's awful really, we've only had 2 kittens Penny and Squeaky our first 2 and they were about 4 mths old and we weren't even offered any younger we just accepted that was the youngest they would give us and they were kittens to us!  I'd be wary if people said that tbh because if that is what they'll only accept how will they go on when they grow they'll not be 10 wks for long!

I have taken two calls so far today, both wanting kittens, but the 2 4mo's we have in are too old for both of them, they both want 8-10 week old kittens. I can't understand why at just 4mo, kittens can be too old. I might just tell the next people we only have 4mo kittens in!!

mind you, I went to take some clothes to the rescue Zi is from yesterday, and they have a clearly elderly, possibly blind female - I wanted to find somewhere to place my 4mo foster so I could take her home!!
