Thanks everyone,

Oh yes, she's got me under her paw alright  ;D

I'm thrilled that she's respoded so well to the steroids  it has, quite literally, given her a new lease of life. Thanks for the warm water tip Chris, I think the trick is to avoid any large chunks of food that don't pass through and mshing the food up into a paste-like consistency has worked very well alongside the steroids reducing the inflamation and thus the obstruction in her intestine.

All the best folks,

Cheers

Leigh

Have you tried warming the water you use to mash Suzie's foods, Leigh?  It works well for Blip and, intuitively, it would seem a good thing to do?

Thanks ems,

Yes, she seems very happy, she likes to retire under the chest of draws where I have made her a comfy bed of a day time but she spends all the night as usual on the bed with me either laying on my chest for stroking sessions when she has the loudest of purrs or on the pillow next to me. My dream is that I can get mum over from her nursing home as soon as I have moved in and got my new home ready and that they can be re-united, mum'd love that.

Cheers

Leigh

PS. She greeted me when I got home last night with the most incredibly loud "I'm  starving" miaow which was music to my ears as, even before she was diagnosed, she never was really vocal at meal times, that's not to say that she isn't really noisy when she want a cuddle, she always lets me know when she wants something :).
I crush the tablet up into a fine powder and mix it in thoroughly and then she doesn't detect it in the food. She virtually licked the bowl clean twice yesterday, brilliant!! :).

Hi folks,

Just a quick post to let you all know that my georgous senior "catizen" Suzie is still reponding very well to her treatment for her intestinal cancer. You will remember that she had a steroid injection about 9 weeks ago and since then I have switched  to giving her one steroid tablet a day crushed up in with her wet food. She has been sick only the once but she did eventually go off of the Petit Pate Hi-life that I had such success with her on but she has really taken to regular Felix pouches which I mash up with a fork into a sort of pate-like paste. Last night she polished off two bowls, one when I got home from work and one overnight and she munched her way through nearly another bowl this morning whilst I was getting ready to leave for work. Bless her she's such a fighter and she's still number one cat at nose rubs :).

cheers

Leigh
