Oscar turned out not to be so temporary!!! He has been here 3 weeks today, and he was neutered today (my vet does males from 3 months old, wish I had known that sooner, but as I rarely get kittens, she obviously didn't feel the need to tell me) - someone needs to tell him he should be calm though, he is still bouncing off the bathroom door at present!! Everyone at the vets loved him, and one of the vets friends wants a ginger kitten, so she took some pics to send to him, she will speak to him over the weekend and let me know on Mon, so fingers crossed.

He certainly is a little tyke, not sure if it is his colour or the fact he is also so loving, but he is more enjoyable to be around than Misty - he loves to nuzzle your face, the first thing he did to me on Fri was stretch out and put his paws on my nose.

Aww, he's beautiful  :Luv2: He definitely looks a bit skinny, poor little thing. If I ever got another cat I'd love a ginger again, never thought I'd say that after losing Tiggy but there's something special about them  :Luv2:

Agreed. Ginger cats hold a special place in my heart after Toby - never met a cat like him before and unlikely to again.

He's so sweet, Desley.  :Luv: Looks like he might be a bit of a tyke though!

He is, although ironically he weighs the same as Misty did, despite being younger and thinner, so he is going to be a very big boy when he grows up. I know what you mean with the colours, and I suppose at some point I would love another ginger and white, although they could never be as good as Ginger was.

Not tried that yet, he does respond well to verbal at the moment.

Have you tried the blowing in the face method when he goes for hands?  Worked for the boys, they still play fighty bitey but with no teeth or claws!

Not great photos I'm afraid as he doesn't do staying still - not sure they show off his thinness or his fluffiness either. I also think he thinks his name is Bad OScar, as he has bad habits of using hands and legs as toys and is a bit confused by mice and balls!! He also loves to scratch the carpet, so another bad habit to get him out of, he ignores the scratching post. And I have never seen such a small cat get litter so far across the room!!

Well, this little lad was dropped off on Fri night, the lady had bathed him and used Johnsons on him, so all I could do was pick off the still live fleas - fortunately there weren't too many of them, and he didn't have a lot of flea dirt, so hopefully that is sorted. His ears were hot and he was snuffly, so off he went to the vet yesterday, he has had a couple of jabs, but apart from his snuffles, there isn't really much wrong with him, there was no sign of any fleas, and his ear is just dirty, not mites. He is very thin though, even his tail is thin bless him. He is a lovely fluffy ginger, so am sure he wont be hard to home when he gets over his snuffles and puts some weight on. He is about 4 months old, and very hard to photograph cos he is into everything - only problem is he thinks the best toys are hands and legs!! I have called him OScar

After being glad to see Misty go on Tues, and saying that I dont want kittens again, I am looking after one for a week till we have space at the rescue!! No idea on colour, cos I forgot to ask that, full of fleas and they aren't sure on age, they think it might be a couple of months old, so I now know where I am going on Sat morning. Ironically, it is the second call about young kittens today, and I asked Kelly to take the first one in to keep my space free, and 2 hours later had it filled!! The annoying thing is this is the second call I have taken this week after 9pm, I wonder why people think that they can ring a rescue that late, I would never consider it. They are going to drop the kitten off tomorrow after work, they seemed a bit unsure about keeping it 24 hours, but unless they physically took it to the RSPCA, they wouldnt get anywhere quicker, CP dont answer the phones till 6pm. She works for the police, and didn't have a good word to say about the RSPCA, they struggle to get them to help as well.
