So glad I took him to the vet when I did as am sure it would have turned nasty

It's so true, this.  Like you I recently took Blip to the vet wondering if I was being neurotic - OH thought so - and thank goodness I did!  They give us the smallest signals and it is so important to trust our instincts on their behalf

WOOHOOOOOO I'm so glad he seems on the mend.

It must have been that kitbit that I gave him yesterday  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

She has also started using Archies litter tray for some reason. She has toileted outside for the whole of her 8 years.

Beginning to wonder if her presence is upsetting Archie :(

Sorry if you already done so but an extra tray or 2 may help, Parki probably cant believe her luck a home with an indoor loo. Probably shows she settled herself in well tho!

No I rarely see her now. She is such a sweetheart but a tiger with the others :(

I think there is something else upsetting Archie :( He really does not like Parki who has all but moved in. He will often take a swipe at her whereas he loves Fluffy.
Parki is so so sweet but quite honestly the dimmest cat I have ever seen, bless her. Although she is a large lady the others just dont like her and will growl and swipe at her.

Hi, Hows Archie today,

think Christine could be right.  When I had my first episode I ended up in hospital. Antibiotics were great, but even after recovery you feel exhausted so that could be why Archie is quiet.  Also I never liked cereal but since this has started I have cravings for Shreddied Wheat.Nothing sweet.  I am now a 4 a day shreddy person. So bit of fibre could help.

Luv

He has not lost any blood today which is wonderful. Although quiet he is eating.

How's Archie this afternoon?

I wonder if a little extra fibre in his diet might help him?  As you know, I'm sensitive to this sort of complaint at the moment because of Blip's blocked anal glands: I'm trying to get her to take a little Nutrifyba every day as the vet has advised us to increase her dietary fibre.  Perhaps worth asking your vet whether that might help alleviate any such symptoms in future, if nothing else?

Hi,

As a Human suffering from the same kind of problem, I can probably put  it into some kind of order for you.

Colitus, Diveticulistus (sp) which I have, irritable bowel syndrome and there is another.  All give similar symptoms and are all where different parts of the iintestine  flair up .  Stress is the main cause and I control mine by diet, the daft thing is I can eat spicy curries but cant eat beef burgers but for me fruit and veg are great (so tell that to the cat). I do have to have tablets occasionaly .   but if I get stressed my stomach everything goes into spasms and its not nice.  So basically find out what he can eat, it may not be the most expensive, or best health food just what he can eat, and try and keep him calm.   The first problem is the worst and once you know just watch out for it.  It is not life threatening but I can tell you it is very painful. he may not have another problem with this again but again he may, but he will be fine.

luv

Thanks Clare and Liz

I have given Archie his first antibiotic and he ate his breakfast. He is now settling down for a snooze and all signs are looking promising. Just have to keep an eye on his litter tray.
