It was front page of The Echo last week, and was also in our freebie papers.

I searched the internet for any news about Billericay, but I couldn't find any either.

Thankfully I haven't heard that there have been anymore cats found. Just hope they catch this individual quickly.

I couldn't agree with you more about this.

I was horrified when I heard about what had been reported in Laindon, but I had no idea that anything had happened in Billericay.

I'm really worried now, because I live in Billericay.  I am now thinking about putting my furry gang under temporary house arrest - they will hate it.

I can't understand why any human being could do this  :-:  >:(

I feel so sad for the poor, poor kitties and anyone who loved or loves them  :'(

There has been nothing in the papers about the Billericay cats and it's an unconfirmed piece of information I heard from somebody that works for Basildon Council.

Thankfully I haven't heard that there have been anymore cats found. Just hope they catch this individual quickly.

My Dad too works for the council and didn't want to tell me about it as he knew I would be upset.

He spoke to the guy who had the unfortunate task of clearing up and because it was so bad the police initially thought it was a human murder.

The police are hunting hard for him (and am certain it will be a "him").
Lots of research saying that people who do this kind of thing are often serial killers in the making.

No news of any further cat killings so far thank goodness.

I live in Essex and I am so glad my Bambi is an indoor cat - so she can stay safe and sound. People like this should be locked up for life, how could you do that to any animal?

I too live in Essex (Wickford) and saw this on the BBC website yesterday.

It made me feel physically sick!

I'm glad my boys only get supervised garden walks.

As I am writing this, there have been 2 cats in my street gone missing in the past couple of weeks! I really hope they turn up safe and sound.

My mum lives in Basildon, my brother in Stanford-le-hope and my sister in Langdon Hills so I will warn them all - thanks  :(

What pathetic excuse for a human being could do something like this?  >:(

I have posted in the Cat Welfare section regarding three cats who have been found dead in the Laindon area of Basildon. Two had been decapitated and one was found on a door step with it's throat slashed. I have heard through a friend at the Concil that two more cats in the Billericay area have been injured (but fortunately not slaughtered) too.

If you live in or near these areas watch your cats very carefully and be aware that this sick individual is out there.
