I've just got back from visiting him. He's in a cage and has eaten a little. He had a purr for us both but is so weak. That is the positive. The terribly worrying thing is that he is sitting on his back legs at a funny angle and seems unable to move them. I didn't see the vet as he was consulting but he will call me later and I will hope to go back to see my little boy again. The nurse said there is brain inflammation as also Swampy seems unable to see much if at all. He couldn't see his food bowl for example. He is still on his steroid drip but made no attempt to move towards us and no miaowing when we came and left, which is what he did when so ill with cholangiohepatitis.  Having seen my little boy just lying there with his back legs splayed out and so passive, I'm desperately worried. I couldn't hold him and I hope to hold him later on today. But just hearing his purr and kissing his head was so important. Please keep the prayers and positive vibes coming as he needs all the help and love he can get.

It's really hard, but you have to stay positive.   We're all willing your little man to pull through from this.  I reckon we all understand how you feel about the fact you contacted the vet immediately, but try not to focus too much on that, and just concentrate on Swampy getting better.  With so much love coming your way, he stands a very good fighting chance.      Keep strong, sweetheart.

Got back from the vets and had a chat to him. Swampy is still on a drip and may well have more valium tonight to stop him fitting in the night. Then we have to see tomorrow at 9 how he is and how he does overnight. The vet was really nice but (this could help others I hope) there is a 3 hour window after an 'event' like brain or spine damage and convulsions. I got Swampy treatment in 2 hours so we hope and pray that it is enough. I'm trying not to get angry as rang the vets within 15 minutes of it happening as I KNEW really it's not just stress from falling.
His kidney and liver results are worse too from before hand - kidney 15 and 235 or something and liver doubled up to 87. The vet says that the steroids aren't wonderful for his kidneys either but that they help his liver, but without them he has no chance anyway.
Swamp was very weak but sat on my lap and nuzzled my OH for a second, which made us both teary. It's so helpful to know all of you out there are pulling for him. Thanks and bless all of you  I am trying to be positive but it is just so hard.

How awful for both of you, such a freakish accident.  I do pray and will pray for both of you.  Don't be upset that he can't hear you, he will know you are there from your scent, from your touch and just because they know that sort of thing.  I have to log off but this will be the first thing I click on tomorrow morning.

With love,

C.

 to you all and thanks for the comfort. In the night will be crucial as the drug is a fast acting steroid which wears off every 6 hours I think he said. if his brain's full of fluid or damaged, I suppose we will know when it wears off. I am just praying for him all the time. He was not too bad initially, ate, then couldn't walk any more and kept convulsing so the vet thinks it's fluid build up on his brain from thrashing about with his head stuck. Please pray for him or if you don't pray, then think very positive vibes for the wampa. thanks everyone for being here for us.
