Im so glad Swampy is feeling a little bit better ,im sure its the sunshine thats making him feel that way, afterall it works wonders for us and from the sounds of the long range weather forcast  we are in for a very hot summer this year :wow:its lovely and sunny here this morning in Mansfield and my furbabes are already taking advantage(inside of course  as its still a bit chilly outside )theres bodies in front of windows all over the house ;)anyway hope Swampy ,Max and yourself take advantage of the rays and have a good day

OH's turn to be well knackered this morning as he did the 3am munchies run last night! Swampy started feeling a bit better yesterday afternoon. He had a nice snooze on the bed in the sun. We will try to take him out on the roof this morning later on when it warms up, to get his dose of Vitamin D. But he's always preferred canned sun and there's so little of it in this flat (soon to stop altogether until september). So we must try to get him to enjoy being outside as that will be there as long as there is sun. I used to dream of a conservatory on the roof just for the cats!  ;D (not possible!).

It's quite funny as OH always accuses me of only wanting to buy this flat, which we were renting, so as not to move Swampy, who was then unwell with cholangiohepatitis and making the decision based on the Cat Needs (there is a certain truth to the allegation   :innocent:); however I'm sure they would have preferred a different flat where more sun streams in the window. Hope everyone has a lovely sunny day and all furbabes enjoy it

Poor Swampy paced most of the night - I was worried about the vet giving him a strong vit B jab and it did hype him up. So he is tired and a bit stressed this am. yes it is so helpful if he is doing well as it takes a lot of stress off me. But think he's going to be a bit more tricky today. Hope that it just wears off soon. We were up a lot in the night, him and me. He specialises in 3 - 5 am hunger pangs  :tired:

Its got to be the sunshine making him feel better ;D and you must feel the benefits of not worrying to much about him at the moment, and if the vet thinks he looks better then last time then that to has to good

Swampy's bp is down at 160 so the vet was pleased. However my monster would just not allow blood to be taken. He's still quite strong! I'm disappointed because I wanted an anaemia reading, but proud of him too.
Vet says he is looking better than last time, but has still a lot of blood in his urine and he's not sure why.
I must give him a meal now and his bp pill and a big cuddle.

Well, his choc-i-ness marched around fine a lot during the night and wanted to eat quite a lot at 1am, 3.45am and 5am so I suppose he had a good night! It's much easier when you wake up to see a little brown monster already next to you by the kitchen, just demanding that the plate be topped up, rather than have to help him with everything as he's confused. He is now fast asleep but I plan to take him to the sun later on.
Plus we remembered to pin him down and do the fucithalmic.
The vet is coming later on, at lunchtime, to do his bp and possibly take blood should Swampy allow all that.

nice day here and Swampy had a good night - which means he found his way to everything but needed feeding at 1.30, 3.30 and 6am!!!! He's had a good drink this morning and I always put a little water in his food. I hold his plate up a bit to feed him too so I think though it must be because he sleeps quite a bit in the mornings and stuff goes down his throat so in the afternoon up it comes. OH always leaves in such a rush before we can do the fucithalmic and that's the one thing I do struggle to do by myself as Swampy is what the vet calls (in his notes!) "very wriggly".
I hope the weather and his current state of health both continue but am of course taking it one day at a time. Funny how only getting up twice in the night counts as a really good night   ;)

Bless the pair of them - little cuddle monsters.  Hope Swampy can stop being sick (make sure he has extra fluid - as if I need to tell you).  Might be his med side effects? Anyway hope the vet can shed some light on it on Thursday.  Hope you all have a quiet night with loads of sunshine tomorrow.  It's forecast cooling here on Thursday so hope you get at least tomorrow too.

Max is eyeing the new sofa. He sat on it with his tail thrashing and had a good yell, then went to their bed and they had a little paw bat! Swampy was also on the sofa (put him there) and he tried to have a claw at it with his front paws so I picked him straight up!  He spent an hour or so on the bed this morning - only place that gets sun, we get none in summer in the south facing top flat as the windows are too small and the sun just hits the roof  :censored: to that - and had a purr and a lovely time, even went to sleep for a while. I can't find his harness but may have another look later, although it's going to be sunny but colder they say so if it's too cold, better not take him outside anyhow.

Max is going to try to destroy the sofa I know....

PS don't know if it is Swampy's cold but I am getting very worried as he is vomiting most afternoons now after his meal. He throws up in his bed and then often again 5 mins later - very liquid. last 2 days he's been better in himself too. It seems there's always something.

What a shame it is so difficult to get him outside.  Hope you can get some help or see how he goes on his harness.  That way at least he could safely wander round.  Max keep your claws of mummy's new sofa!  It is forecast here to go cold again on Thursday so am enjoying the sunshine whilst we can

He had a good night, but wanted to eat such a lot! So found his tray fine but then yelled at me to get up and provide more k/d.  He had a good if short time on the roof, but he was difficult to get into the carrier inside the lounge and impossible outside, so I had to climb back in the window holding him. It's not possible to climb out of the window holding him, so if he won't go into the carrier then he won't be able to get any sun.
I don't think he can just sit on the kitchen top until I am out. I may try his old harness though; he used to purr when I put it on him as he associated it with going outdoors!  Or if I see my neighbour may ask her to pass me him!!!! It's lovely he can get some vitamin D, but it's not quite as warm today and getting colder all week I think.

The new (fabric) sofa arrives today. Max is already sharpening his claws in anticipation  :evillaugh: Think I am going to have to cover it up with something that smells familiar to him too. Luckily it's small so it will just go where 2 chairs are now, so won't upset Swampy's radar at all I don't think.

I'm going to try something this morning - put him in his old vet carrier and take him out on to the roof. It is such a lovely sunny day. but I hope he doesn't freak out from the carrier. It will be about 5 mins in and 5 mins back as I have to get on to the surface and climb through the window (bit like playing twister, not one for youtube thanks  :)). It seems such a shame to let him lose out on sun and vitamin D.

he's vomited twice today, both soon after eating but it's still unusual as his cold isn't too bad. I just hope it's nothing to worry unduly about (I'm worrying of course). Luckily he'd not yet had his Selgian as I moved it to later on now, in the hope of quieter nights. Otherwise I agree, time to have his bp measured again.

Maybe the meds have lowered his bp a little too much?  Hopefully he can get it checked as soon as you can get your vet out to visit.  In the meantime big snuggles for you all and hope you have a calm and peaceful night

Swampy just seems a bit slower. He's been sleeping more. there's one less layer between him and his heatpad which he seems to like, but think he needs his vet visit and bp taken. Less than a week ago when I was away he was venturing down the passage so maybe it is just a blip. One day at a time

He just spent 1/2 hour - 20 mins more than we planned - in the sun on a towel on the flat roof outside our kitchen window. He didn't purr but he sat quite contently and seemed to enjoy the warmth. So so lovely to see him out there again. I sat next to him to reassure him (and to get some Vit D myself, it's been a while!). Lovely sunday morning xx

couldn't get at the computer earlier. Swampy is still not feeling that good - not too bad and eating all right, just a bit subdued - he finishes his abs tomorrow too. The vet says he can come on thursday as isn't there mon, tues then wed is too busy unless it's urgent.
He needs his bp taken again and if he allows it, maybe some blood tests to see where we are. I also took a urine sample down today but haven't heard the result.

just had a lovely purr session. He seems slightly better the second day of his steroid 48 hour cycle. I'd be reluctant to push it out to 72 hours though. Just taking it as it comes. It is doubly tiring though when he has an active and unable-to-find-stuff night. Last night he was a bit better and calmer. But he has his steroids at 1.30 today. Max also sometimes gets into the bed and sort of shoves him out (doesn't mean to but Swampy interprets it as that). I will pass on your vibes in head kisses to my boy
