A quiet night and a little wander sounds very promising.  I expect he'll have a pee in a minute

no water but he only eats k/d which is probably mostly water (and fibre: he's not needed lactulose since eating k/d!). It's just today he's not peed. Normally he does a large one in the morning. With the cortisone hangover he was peeing and drinking a lot. I'll see what happens later on. I'm v tired yes. I haven't really slept since last wed!  I'm still too scared to leave him alone at home too - I'm feeding downstairs neighbour's bird at the moment and I wait for OH to come home before going down to do that.

Well it is sounding promising isn't it?  If he felt well enough for a little play then that has got to be good.  Keep on doing what you are doing and hopefully things will gradually improve.  I don't think anyone expects you to do other than concentrate on Swampy and give us daily updates.  You must be exhausted.  Lots of   we are all rooting for Swampy boy.  Are  you adding water to his food?

have a great holiday! and thank you all xxxx   Swampy had another quiet night and this morning went for a little wander down the passage for 5 mins, then I brought him back to his futon bed. Last night I tried to see if he could see da Bird (no) then I got the parcel white tape and touched his paws with it and he had a gentle bat at it for about 20 seconds! Then he got tired. I think I'll take out the tape once a day for a little session if he'll go for it.   The vet says he must have his blood tests redone in 2 - 3 weeks as everything may have affected his kidneys and liver.  I'm still just spending the day quietly with him and am grateful that I can do that as when he wakes up, he needs reassurance. I'm so hyper to everything though: Max sneezed in the night and I woke up with a start to see if everything was ok. I'm also fretting because he's now stopped drinking so much and hasn't been to the tray....when you start worrying, it doesn't stop does it?
So lots of purrs to everyone this morning

also all our love and  to everyone else on here with problems right now. Sorry I am so absorbed in Swampy's needs that I haven't really spent any time reading other threads.

Keep your chin up sweetheart.  He might not be showing as much interest at the moment as he did before, but he's been through one helluva lot and he will take time to recover.  He's eating, which is good.  He's responding to you, which is good.  He hasn't had any further fits, which is excellent.    It's perfectly natural that you're willing him on to greater things, and I'm certain in time he'll do more and more.  I know so well how this feels, because it was similar for us after Paddy had his stroke - we didn't know at first if he'd recover, then it was how well he'd recover.  It was a slow process but one that was worthwhile keeping faith with.  Me and Paddy are sending lots more positive healing vibes   :care: to join those of everyone else.

Swampy's not moving from the futon really. Don't tell swampmaxdad but he got a meal on a hand held plate there this afternoon too, as his appetite's a little bit down from the steroids wearing off, he was wrapped in a warm fleece and didn't want to come to the kitchen! He shows no interest in trying to move out of the lounge either so I'm spending my time next to him and hoping that during the week and the one after we see a steady improvement. The vet doesn't want to see him unless there's anything urgent or he stops eating. He also sent a message via his nurse that we can keep the lights on and watch TV - the TV's only about a meter from where he lies. I might carry him in my arms around the flat tomorrow to see if he can see anything or is interested in anything, will see how it goes.
Again, bless you all for your support, it means so much

thanks and  everyone, it's so lovely to have your support and understanding. Swampy had a quiet night. I'm going to find out today if watching TV (it's only 1m from the futon mattress that he's living on on the floor) and switching on the lights above his futon could hurt him. We've been in darkness for the weekend but I'm so tired, that's ok! His cold is tuning up a bit so I'm now stressing about him starting to cough or sneeze as read somewhere that affects pressure in the brain. But he had a purr in my arms this morning after his brekker (although I had to show him where the plate was) and he's such a brave little boy.  If I have any news later on I'll post but thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers and mega good vibes as I'm sure they are helping.
