oh Anne I'm so sorry to hear the sad news

You did not fail her in any way ... you and your new super vet did everything you could for this little one but sadly the odds were stacked against you both from the beginning.

RIP Poppet ... you were fortunate enough to know not all humans are  :censored: .  Play hard little one there will be many friends to look after you now sweetheart.

I am so so sorry to hear this news about Poppet Anne,

It is so angering and upsetting that it all could have been avoided.  some people in this world don't deserve to be called human!  :censored:

As Lesley says, you have in no way failed at all.  You have shown Poppet love and affection even if only for a day or two and she would not have had that without you.  You have done everything you could've and whilst I know we always tell ourselves maybe we should have done this or that... it doesn't make you feel any better.

As Lesley also says, and although it is never easy, think of those that wouldn't be here without you.  Its often much easier said than done and it doesn't stop the hurting over the little one you've lost but it does tell you why we go through this heartache and why we would again.

So gutted to read the news this morning Nessa, sometimes I know this rescue thing we do feels too much too bear, but both babies knew love, warmth and comfort in their hours with you and that is the most precious gift you could give them.

Don't ever feel you have failed; harder said than done I know from bitter experience, but without you these little babies would have died alone and afraid.  The odds were stacked against them before you even knew of them and what you did and the tremendous love you put into them is never a failure.

It is the people who let them get into these terrible situations who are the failures  :censored: :censored: :censored:.

When you feel really down, look into the face of one of the babies you have saved.  I know, like me, you would go through all the heartache again if you knew you could save just that one little face you are looking at.

Big    to you.

Not a failure, it was a big ask and I'm sure no-one could have done more and poppet was in the absolute best place with you.

How lovely of the vet, one incident that highlights the extremes of human capabilities, you and the vet with nothing but love in your hearts and whoever did this to poppet and siblings with very dark hearts indeed.

I rushed to the forum this morning to find out how poppet was doing... gutted to read this, poor poppet and poor you  :'(

I tried so hard with poppet and failed when we were at the vets last night different one to we normaly use ( he was shocked and couldnt believe someone could be so heartless he done what he could for poppet last night and has offered he support to any orphans that I get in the future he only charged 15euros for last night we are normaly charged a hell of a lot more by our own vet. Mybe some good came out of poppet plight I dont know.

Little poppet passed away a few minuites ago......to say I am drained is an understatement. I dont understand how someone could have done this.. I keep thinking that poppet had siblings and that they are out there some where in the cold dying on there own. I will never understand why people do theses cruel things to animals. why couldnt that peoson just place little poppet in a little box and leave it at my door if they didnt want it.Why do that terriable thing to her  :censored: I HATE THEM for doing that to a poor defenceless kitten who was only a few days old  eyes were not even open and neither were the ears
RIP in peace Poppet we love you I hope some day I will meet you at the rainbow bridge xxx

If you stumble upon a sack containing a half drowned kitten, you at least untie the knot at the top to let the kitten breathe before you dump it on someone's doorstep, Sam.  :shify:

If it were me, I'd be taking this personally. I'd be thinking someone deliberately did this to upset me.... but I'm as paranoid moo at the best of times.  :shy:

Thankfully I have faith in kismet enough that I know one day these monsters will get it back 10 fold, and heaven help them when they do because no one else will lift a finger.  :sneaky:

Poor mite!  :censored: :( :(

Very odd, though. If they did that to her, why bother to bring her to your door and to safety afterward?  :shify:   I will never understand some folks minds!

Maybe the person that dropped her off on the doorstep had just rescued her rather than being the person who had done it to her.
