Glad it worked out well - my mum ended up with issues recently, all her phone calls were going to someone else - luckily, it was an old friends sister, so they got all their messages (my stepdad has his own business, so it is the business no too)
Please spay your cat

Bit too late as the appt. was 6pm  :evillaugh:

They were both there and I questioned them about it. She said she even phoned her husband at work as she was worried. It seems to be one of those mysteries. Anyway, they seem fine - nice quiet private road, detatched house with good sized garden and they want a black cat (well kitten)  :evillaugh:

She is a senior secretary in a hospital and they seem very nice. Daughter at college, younger kids etc. She said there are people in & out all day every day.

They wanted black as their cat they lost to cancer was black  :( - She was upset by a certain local vet who had accused her of neglect when she took him in and told her to take the cat home and look after it properly. A week later she was back with the cat and only then they found the cancer which was advanced and so had to PTS. She said obviously he had got bedraggled as he got sicker  :'(

I would take your mobile with you and ring the number listed while you are there, and see whether it rings.  There is an outside possibility that there is a crossed wire somewhere, a friend of mine had this and next door were getting all their calls!

I too have had something similar happen a few times, it is just maddening when you know you have dialed the right number.

On rare occasions when dialling out I get someone different than who I’m actually trying to call.

This mostly happens when I’m trying to call my dad’s mobile in the US but it has happened with local calls.

I know 100% I had been phoning the right number as Sharon has just emailed me the original email from her with the surname - When I phoned yesterday, I got the voicemail saying this is the ****** family - so it was the right number. She also has a responsible job. The only conclusion is that her husband doesn't want a cat?

 :shify:

Try looking up her name in the phone book or http://www.192.com/  If the number listed matches the addressyou know she is lying  :sneaky:

Odd phone call to arrange homecheck - what do you think?
« Reply #1 on: August 20, 2008, 10:07:18 AM »
I phoned a woman to arrange homecheck this morning (after phoning 4 times yesterday with no answer) a man answered and was really short with me - He said I was the second person today asking for this woman. I told him and he said it was a wrong number. He even asked me to read the number out again but said no it was the wrong number. I rang the woman's mobile (obviously try landlines first as we pay for our own calls) and arranged to go over at 6pm. I asked to check her landline number and I had dialled it correctly  - I even checked the redial on the phone  - also I had got her number in the first place from her email to Sharon which she had forwarded to me  - She joked that it must have been the burglar

I am confused - the only possible thing I can imagine is that the husband doesn't want a cat? - if that's the case, then it's not wise to home there? - I will cross examine  :shify:
