the corners are the weak points though, a roof section might be a good solution so thank you for that, ive got some netting left so ill have a try :)

Here's what the 'roof' section look slike on mine from a birds eye view. The angle of the brackets on the corners means it doesn't get as good a coverage as the rest of the system as I could only site my brackets where the fence posts were so the solution was to mitre the corners - netting secured with good old cable ties.

Glad he is back!

And... Lucifer is just the coolest name ever. I always said if I get a cat, it's name would be Lucifer (I imagined a sleek black cat...) As it turned out, a gorgeous grey tabby came along instead and he just didn't look like a Lucifer!

i had lots of other names in mind before but lucifer just suited him to much which is odd as hes ginger and white  :-: it was one of those fluke things where you call them something as a joke and then it just seems too perfect! but thank you

Phew  :wow: Naughty Lucifer  :naughty:

How have you joined your netting?  The Securacat netting doesn't have joins along the main run but the corners have an extra 'roof' - the 'roof' gets joined on by small thin black cable ties - might be worth strengthening the joins using cable ties if they're not cable tied already.

Hi Helen,

its joined with cable ties and the screws for the supports, its been fine everywhere else but i think at this point hes got a standing point and a leaning point to gradually work at it. its now been cable tied to almost farcical extent! about half hour after he came back he was checking it and rechecking it like im sure i left it here somewhere  :evillaugh:

photos of the garden and proofing about 5minutes after it went up, with the cardboard boxes from the garden table and lucifer checking his gap  :evillaugh:

sorry meant to say (but got too distracted by pics) i tried to get netting in a long roll but couldnt find any at the time-other than zooplus. sods law found some in the garden centre at the weekend  mine are only 4meters long but lots of them always joined behind a bracket so we could screw the joins and cable tie them. the corners are the weak points though, a roof section might be a good solution so thank you for that, ive got some netting left so ill have a try :)

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

the little  :censored: has managed to get out of the cat proofing.  :censored: :censored: :censored:
its been up a month and no problems (and they love it, been trying to get some good pics to post with)
hes got a high place he likes to sit and he cant get out from there... or so i thought.
today i caught him standing up there poking the netting. he looked guilty then a picture or innocence and came trotting over for a head rub, i checked that bit of netting (theres a join there) but it looked fine. 10 mins later i went out because Kali/sparecat was making a weird noise and hes outside the netting bristled up and hissing at her! shes hissing back and trying to get at him and making a low screamy noise that is normally only reserved for a big black and white tom that annoys her through the netting and then hes off.
the  :censored: managed to pull the join apart. grrrr
it is fixed now. and im not as paniced as i thought id be but im worried as theyve had a fight he might be slow on coming back? like days?
am i crazy? ive tried shaking some of his toys and food and opening the frdge (that normally gets him in like a shot!)

EDITED: panic over - the little monster has now returned, after an hour, panting but fine.
