in my road all the young children helped me post leaflets and it warmed my heart :)
There's always one
Glad the kids have helped out.
Don't give up hope - one of our family cats went missing for three weeks - she escaped from the cat basket three miles from home on a trip to the vet.  It took her three weeks to find her way back, but she made it  :Luv:

Well as you know there's a Jo, Jane, Janice and Joyce so Wizzy could well have gone to a J!

Whereabouts are you hun. It might be too late for him to be handed into us now but at least if he has been homed through us I might recognise a picture.

Sorry you're still missing your furbabe

Never give up hope, MrsR.  Remember Zsa Zsa, whom I found after three months AWOL - and she was as right as rain.  It was summer she went walkabout too.

Mrs R i dont know if this will help, but i lost my cat Wizzy 4 month ago ,i was given some local numbers and thought they may be of some help,Janice cpl swanwick, 01773 784586 --Jo ashfield and amber valley 01332 780800 ---JANE 01773 860126,THERES ALSO pHIL cLARKE (cat man) 01623 756592, i hope these help and she comes home soon, i will be thinking of you

Thanks for these numbers but a couple of them are ever-so-slightly the wrong details. Janice isn't CP. She does a fabulous job co-ordinating some local rescues such as South Normanton where I'm a volunteer. Poppy shouldn't end up there but I will let them know to keep an eye out. Jane IS CP in Swanwick, although that number is for her Cattery business (finest in the area imho) but she's part of Ashfield and Amber Valley branch dealing with the older cats and is currently full. Jo is also Ashfield and Amber Valley as a fosterer but she's based towards Ilkeston somewhere so it's not as likely she'll come across Poppy (although she does keep the lost and found register up to date).

In all instances I'm sure they would be referred to the coordinator at Ashfield and Amber Valley who is armed with information to safely return Poppy to MrsR. They have had a cat brought in who's a reasonable Poppy-a-like (see my prev post) so they know exactly what they looking for and they're really hot on checking for chips.

Jo also has a chip-scanner so that would be her first job too. I'm not sure about Janice as I don't know her personally.

One more thing. Mrs R I am going to help you over the weekend if she's not back!

I know exactly how you feel :(, the not knowing is terrible, you go over things in your mind, wondering where you went wrong and if you could have done things differently, hoping and praying, but as everyone kept telling me never give up hope :hug 2:

I am just so sad from right inside my heart, its the only way I can describe it.    Think if she has passed I'd prefer to know as I could mourn her but the not knowing is the worst bit

So many thoughts and questions go through your mind!    Even if someone has her I'd like to know as I could tell thm how to best look after her, her habits, ets - you klnow what I am saying right?

Not knowing is the hardest thing, I've been there and I really feel for you  sending positive vibes for her safe return.

I was Poppy's second chance - have I failed her?

Not at all, you clearly give your cats a fantastic home!

The uncertainty must be awful.

I gave Binky freedom (he would never have been an indoor cat - I had to haul him back in through a first floor window once as he was intent on escaping by his back legs) and he had a short life but he was  a happy cat, all you can do is the best for them and find a compromise between safety and freedom that works for you all.

I really feel for you.

When I found Zsa Zsa a couple of years ago, she had been missing for three months and was only a couple of hundred yards from her home.  But her family didn't think to look or post posters round our way because there is a church in between their house and ours, windy roads and cul-de-sacs.  So the houses seem further apart than they are, if that makes sense.

Have you thought about the route Poppy might have taken from a cat's point of view rather than a human one, MrsR?  That is, if there are dead ends or walls around your way, there will be separate areas in your mind but not in Poppy's, causing you to miss out looking in some places?
