I don't know the ins and outs so I'll be careful about what I put here but we've just taken in four cats (with two more to come) from the same home. The call came from the dog warden who had siezed a number of dogs from the house. The conditions in which these animals were kept was said to be heartbreaking. And, to make matters worse, there are persians involved. There are two persians and two semi-longhaired moggies (it wouldn't surpirse me if they were persian x moggies...).
The persian boy, Malcolm had to be shaved but the girl, Tilly has kept her fur apart from the bit where she's been spayed. Their ears were gross and they were crawling with all sorts.
This case has really got to me. I went in yesterday and Malcolm was so trusting and pleased to get some fuss. He was licking his shaved fur excitedly and purring like a crazy cat! Tilly was a little more cautious. She was enjoying a stroke but not getting carried away. Morris was nervous but seemed to show some sort of relief to be safe and Mitch just hid from me.
I want these cats to go to really special homes where they can have security and love for years to come. I would've nagged oh but at a push he'd only let me have one and then I wouldn't be able to pick!
One more thing, Malcolm is a really special colour but I can't remember the name of it. It's the ragdoll-style one. He's blue and creamy white (although it's hard to tell with the filthiness and lack of hair). In fact Tilly's quite unusual too and she has a really strange (for a persian) small head.
Edited to say: maybe Malcolm's just blue and white bi-colour looking at that pick again but I was convinced there was a name for the way the white is just around his mouth. I'm confuddled!
Here they are:
