Bach flower remedies - any good?

I ve not heard about this putting resue remedy on their ears can I have more info. please?

I was advised to do this by Teresa of Paws Inn rescue who posts on here, she has had thousands of cats through her doors and is very experienced so I fully trust her advice.  I asked about the dosage on this thread http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,9929.0.html and many others, including another experienced rescue Lesley of eight lives left, rub two small drops on the back of the ears.

i have tried a feliway diffuser (2), but when they ran out i have not replaced them because my back door and some times my front door are open during the day, I always have an upstaires landing window open, so I believe the levels of the cat phemorones never build because of the fresh air that I always like circulating - I am paronoid about cooking and cat smells, and also so the cats can come and go as they please.

I ve not heard about this putting resue remedy on their ears can I have more info. please?

Your vet is right, tillywilly.  The active ingredient in "Rescue Remedy" is alcohol.

I thought it was the carrier for the flower esscences! Because of the alcohol dont give it at the same time as metronidazole a common antibiotic.

I am not normally one for herbal/holistic remedies but I have used Rescue remedy with great success when my young cat was very nervous after a fright, it really seemed to calm him down although he didn't like me putting it on his ears  Two small drops rubbed into the outer ear is the accepted dosage.

I would add a couple of drops to their drinking water.  And maybe a drop on the back of each earl.

As Des says it does help on some cats.

I have used rescue remedy myself and with Charlie.  To be perfectly honest I didn't see any benefit from it for either of us.  However I have friends who swear by it and many people on here have said they have seen benefits from it.  Maybe it depends on the cat/person?  Best of luck though hope it helps, it certainly can't do any harm I don't think.

i have tried it, but wouldnt put it on dried food. I think it does help with some cats.

Hi cat world

I have started using Bach flower remedies mainly on my 6 month old kitten because he is so very boisterous to my cat - really to calm him down a bit towards her.  My cat is having a some to help her adjust to the newcomer.  Also putting some resue remedy in their dryed food. I mentioned it my vet who was indifferent and was more focused on the alcohol content. 
My husband thinks it is helping with our situation.

What does any one else think, have you tried it, if so any results????
