Yvonne that appeal went out a few days before it reached here and thankfully the response was overwhelming,  there is a horrendous problem in Ireland both cats and dogs.

:Hello:  Teresa thank you so much for that information - I have been thinking about these poor cats all last night and first thing this morning!  Do you know how they eventually got sorted?

Ireland must also be in a bad way concerning dogs as well because a lady is regularly on our works intranet advertising for homes for dogs rescued from a dog pound in Ireland.

Any updates would be welcome.

The immediate danger is now over and thankfully promises of placements have been received for these little ones.
Cathy sends her thanks and will reply to everyone who emailed but it may take a few days due to internet problems.
Cathy will be pleased to hear from anyone who can help in the future. Thank you.

There isn't a CP in Ireland but I know HQ have helped with similar cases in Ireland before and helped to bring some over to the UK so definitely worth contacting them to see if they can help. I know they are aware of the major problems in Ireland as one of the new adoption centres planned for the north west is aiming to help with cats from there too. Not much help in this case I know but hopefully they will be able to help save at least some of these kittys

I'm pretty sure there are some Irish contacts on the list as I've had emails from them in the past when pleas go out.  I'll put a few feelers out tomorrow and see what I can find out.  I've got a couple of spare pens still but I want to get my numbers down and they just keep going up, plus I can't afford to take any more

Can any of our Irish members help out on this one?

Is there a CP in Ireland?  If not why not?

I don't know whether the DSPCA are any good - not sure what their policy is.

Hope all these poor babes can get sorted.

If it was just a threat, I could understand and yes, I know how you feel as I feel the same  :'(  I would think as I said, it would have gone to everyone, not just rescue groups and I'm sure some of the contacts would have passed it on to others as well.  I'll find out tomorrow if HQ is on their list

Point taken, Dawn. But I hope you can imagine my feelings? We all hear this threat so often it makes you want to scream!  :tired:

I'd offer any help I could but I could get kittens from Poland faster than they could get here - not that Canterbury CP has an inch spare of pen space.  :( I still think the appeal to CP HQ is a good idea. There are so many little branches tucked away in that half of the country and only HQ has direct contact with them.  ;)

I'm sorry but does anyone else not like the way they have worded their appeal? Rescue folks hear this PTS treat from the public all the time, do we really have to hear it from a fellow rescue group?  :tired:

Has anyone recommended they try CP HQ? That's a big case and HQ may well send out an appeal on their behalf to the homing centres and branches in the west of Englands and Wales, etc.  :shy:

I would think this plea would have gone out to everyone they can think of.  I received it off a friend of mine who has one of the biggest contact lists I know, so hopefully the right people will be getting it and they'll all get places.  The pts is not nice but reality, and I suppose it's the only way to get through to people about the seriousness of all these poor homeless cats/kittens  :(

They need to know beforehand so they know how many to get on the boat, there's no point otherwise as they'll be nowhere for them to go  :'(

Oh no, thats horrible. I really wish i could help but we're not in ireland.

They'll be bringing them over to the UK in a couple of weeks if they can, so you don't have to be in Ireland to help.  I've already received a plea about this but unless a miracle happens the next couple of weeks, sadly I can't help  :'(

When you hear about them coming to the UK, let me know.

Have they tried contacting all the rescues in Ireland?  http://www.h4ha.org/shelter-directory/index.php

Extreme Emergency - These Cats & Kittens (currently in Ireland) WILL Die if no UK Homes/Rescue Places are Found
Can Anyone Please Help?
Can anyone living in Ireland please also offer help to this lady asap, the SWAP team UK have received this emergency appeal for cats and a number of young kittens who desperately need to find UK rescue places or permanent homes or they WILL DIE.
The cats/kittens are currently in Ireland, however Cathy who is trying to save them is hoping to get as many of them as possible onto a boat to the UK in two weeks time.
If you can help to save any of these precious souls, please contact Cathy IMMEDIATELY - email ohoracatherine@hotmail.com or phone Cathy on 003539633766

Any rescue centres that kindly offer help please meet the following criteria:
1- A NO DESTRUCTION POLICY
2- HOMECHECK ALL PROSPECTIVE OWNERS
3- CAT GETS RETURNED TO THE SANCTUARY IF OWNER CAN NO LONGER KEEP
Many thanks for your kind and much needed support
SWAP team UK

This is urgent, this is more than urgent, it's life or death. These Cats & Kittens WILL die if we don’t get them out of Ireland. There is a boat coming over from Ireland in two weeks time & I would like to have as many of these young lives on that boat as possible. All these Cats & Kittens are tame. This is just a few of their details.
1. Mum Cat & 5 Kittens born on 24 May.
