Lol, Tasmania is certainly beautiful. I have family over there and have visited a few times. I haven't done much site seeing there though.

I'd really love to travel, maybe one day!

my aunt lives in Tasmania and the rest of my Aunts/Uncles/GrandParents live in Lane Cove near Sydney, i spoke to my Gran and she was saying the weather there is awful at the moment. My cousin came here for a visit in 1996 and never went back! she lives and works in London now.

Climate is similar, less extreme than Ballarat. Hills are similar, landscapes etc. Here it is surprisingly crowded - rarely does one find a place of solitude (although I found one the other day  :wow: ). Not to say it doesn't have its good points, nice people (mainly) and lots to do and see, so well worth the effort if you can get over here. :wow:

It seems like a wonderful place!

I've only lived in Ballarat for 2 years. I grew up on the other side of Melbourne and moved here when I was 18.

I haven't been to Sovereign Hill since I was 12, but remember it being a really good time! And yes, it's incredibly chilly at the moment. Periodic sunshine is always accompanied by fierce winds and a cold chill. Summer!? I could do without that lol... unless I'm at the beach! I'd love to visit/live over there - would love it!

Thanks! I'm in Ballarat, so not too far from Horsham. I know a few girls from Horsham who are in my nursing class.

How cool - small world, eh?

Very cool! I went to the brass band festival at Ballarat while at college and had a lovely day. And Sovereign Hill, - fun day out for all! I hear the weather is a little chilly at present - never mind, you are not missing out on much here, it is windy and rainy and occasional bursts of sunshine, but I am missing summer badly at this stage, lol.

Hi there,

I was introduced to this board by a few international friends. Looks like loads of fun, and helping spread awareness for a good cause :)

I have a 5 and a half month old kitten named Dexter. He's my first cat and we have simply fallen in love with him.

I look forward to reading posts and learning more about these wonderful creatures!
