I am glad this one is sorted - we took in 3 cats this year from someone who had cancer, but that reasoning was that her carer couldnt cope with them, she didn't say the doc had told her to get rid, and she did keep the dog.
Please spay your cat

Sorry Michelle

I don't know much about it other than amazing how many have had it and still around to tell the tale. Like my mum

I don't think it is the chemo, I think it is the fact that the lymph nodes are removed so they have no immune system. If it was a double mastectomy, even moreso. The thing is, a similar thing happened recently where a woman who had a prem was told the same thing. Although we disagree with that one, we can't tell them to go against medical advice.

It could well be that the woman refuses to give her cat up.

My aunt had chemo and her 2 cats were what kept her going when feeling down, which is how you feel when the big C arrives. So sad she has to go  :(

Foal Farm are taking her  :)

Sharon is contacting him to arrange for him to take the cat to them. They had to jiggle pens around. Initially there was no space except in the cat house with others but they phoned me back and said they had rehomed 2 cats in isolation  :)

I have phoned a couple of rescues but no luck. One of them was more interested in what colour the cat is  >:(

When my mum had her mastectomy, they said the same thing as they removed her lymph nodes, she has no immunity on that side. Even now, 4 years later, she has to be careful that she doesn't get scratched. I can't blame him for putting his wife's welfare first - although it's a shame the hospital didn't tell them earlier.

Its so sad when Dr's say that, I have known so many people who have animals and are going through chemo...but there you go I wouldnt argue with a Dr.

Try ringing Foal, I know You don't like to but they might have room (I havent got time today, taking my Nan for her results which is likely to be cancer too)

Sadly Whisky needs to find a home, circumstances are quite sad really.. Mr Woods took on 12yr old Whisky from his eldery mum.. She is full vac (due in Aug) spayed not chipped. More an indoor puss cat, not used to other cats, dogs but seems to be okay with sensible children. Although not been round them much. She is a very nervous puss cat and spends much of her time indoor.

Mr Woods wife is in hospital having cancer treatment... she is due home in 10 days time or so, and doctors have advised no animals in the house due to risk of infection, i presume she is having chemo..

Whisky is in Dover, Kent..

Does anyone have any placments for this puss?

She is black with a few white markings on her...Mr Woods is obviously in the hospital visiting his wife so not much time available to sort this one out... I have a gut feeling that he may decide to PTS this puss cat if no room found. He has already tried local rescues to no avail.
