We use RHU too and help where we can, they are all very nice people.
And are very helpful with our dogs that come along.

Thumbs up from us.

And yes, the site is VERY confusing at first..

Its a bit confusing in the beginning but all are nice folks and do cover nearly the whole country - us cat folks also do dog checks so we are useful to them!

I now do homechecks for 4 English rescues and all now have lovely doggies - and am working on cats for them to!

I belong to RHU and also Animal Lovers unite and RHU are a great bunch.
I live in Berks and have a problem with driving too far and through the site managed to get a rescue rat to me from Derbyshire.
yes it is dog orientated but they help with all critters in need.

You did list your details in case they do urgently need someone your way?

It's only a new site and I think word hasn't got to some places yet, but judging by the way they've set themselves up, I can see them being very popular very soon.  :sneaky:

Ooh..! If I told you the name without Tan saying it was alright, a huge great wave would engulf me and sweep me out to sea, and I would never be heard of or seen again!  :scared: :scared:

I think I am safe to say they've been going about 6 months now, and the initials are RHU.  :shoosh:

Modified to add: Yes, it is the same group, Liz, as I have just seen you place a post about the Clan Cats on there.

If its the one I think it is they are a great group - I have done home checks for doggies and also a couple for cats

They are nice and see friendly enough and have folks all over the country

I did a homecheck for a warrington rescue for a dog that is now living the life of riley in Aberdeen!

I have to say I've joined this group and I'm really impressed with their organisation.. and no one has tried to sell me anything!  :evillaugh: They do have a doggie bias but there are cat people there, and rat and rabbit peeps too.  :naughty: They have a database of volunteers across the country, listed by county, who are willing to help with transport and home checks as well as fostering. Basically, they all seem to be volunteers for existing rescues who don't mind helping out another rescue or different kinds of animals than they usually do. The forum lists special cases were transport is needed fast to save animals from PTS to rescues who have agreed to take them. (How many times do we struggle with things like that!  :tired: )

Anyway, I expect Tan will form her own opinion but I can see this being a great resource for people here too.  ;)

   I was trawelling through the internet doing some research. I seem to have stumbled on a newish web group whose interests are helping other animal rescues with HCs and transport. Haven't had time to properly check them out but they might well to useful to some of us. I'd like to post a link to their forum but don't want to infringe the rules.

Will I get my botty slapped for posting a link?  :shify:
