Advert on the tree site - best course of action?

BC and MKR, I go on there because sometimes the people you email with information just genuinely aren't aware of the facts regarding kittens and ages they should be separated.

I don't have loads of money, so can't donate to an animal rescue regularly or set up a rescue. For every email I receive like this one, I receive three  stating they will keep the kittens with the mother to a more sensible age or will accept my help cross posting on reputable rehoming sites like Purrs and CatChat.

Hopefully that explains why I check the sites.

I have to agree Madkitty - I have no idea why you would go into their pet sections, when you know you are going to see things you are powerless to stop and which upset you - seems like a peculiar form of masochism to me.

basically she is saying, she knows all this, but doesn't give a toss ... Either that or she is a really stupid cow and doesn't care. Or she did not know any of that and she still doesn't care ... What a waste of oxygen she is!

If there is a place to put comments then I would post a factual account of the effects on cats if they are parted from their mothers and siblings at such a ridiculously young age ...

BC, I tried about two weeks ago to post an ad for the attention of people selling or rehoming kittens - the admin rejected it!

Ok take the bull by the horns and email back again.

Its worth trying to explain why they are too young to leave their mum, sometimes it works so its worth a try !!

I did that, straight after posting. (Not that I'm concerned or anything.)

Here's the my email and the response:

Hi,

"Were these kittens hand reared? Five weeks is really young for a kitten to be separated from its mother. The minimum is eight weeks and the advised age is ten to twelve weeks. It can actually be psychologically and possibly physically damaging in later life for a kitten to be taken from its mum so early.

It can also cause issues for the mother physically if the kittens have been encouraged to stop feeding too early.

Sorry if you already knew all this.

Does that make sense to anyone after reading the ad I posted?

I've just had a look at this site and can't believe some of the things I'm reading. Surely it's about time that breeding of animals was properly regulated. Sorry I'm on one now!

i refuse to look at that site as i get so annoyed. how can people be so ignorant why cant people see that its better to wait till the kittens are older at five weeks surley there is still some feeding from mum. i know when we got patch and soxs the runt of the litter was still feeding from mum

Saw this advert and something made me email the poster:

"7 kittensforsale 2 ginger girls 2 ginger boys 2 all black boys and 1 totashell girl ready next week"

I emailed asking how old the kittens were and got this response:

"they will be 5 weeks on friday  so they should be ready to go as there or all eating and drinking now"

I've already reported the advert and explained why. Is there anything else I can do?
