There was definitely something exceptional about my little ginger guy. I started to talk about him to my partner earlier today, but it upset him too much so it's good for me to remember Tobes on here. I know you lot won't think I'm odd for missing him as much as I do.

Don't get me wrong, I miss Parsley too. But I'd known Tobes from being literally days old and the connection for me was immediate. And the way he bonded with my partner made me so happy. I can't put into words how I feel, but I would imagine you've all felt it at some point.

Yeah, I know what you mean

and although I still have Misty and will miss Him just as sorely when His time comes

their characters were totally differen't, Hamish was so laid back and couthy and Sooo funny at times plus He spoke back to you
when you spoke to Him, Misty has none of those Traits

I think that is why I still Miss My Hamish so bad at times

It's horrible how it hits you waves, isn't it? I can usually look at pictures and hold it together, but yesterday ended up crying quite a lot. Thank you for the hugs.

Toby and Parsley - wanted to send you a lot of Christmas fusses. I miss you both and hope that you enjoy your Christmas together at the Bridge. You are both tremendously special; Parsley with your chin nipping kisses and wonderfully serious little face and Toby, my laid back, loving little ginger angel.

There aren't the words to say how I feel that I don't get to have you both with me at this time of year, but I wanted to acknowledge how much you are missed by us all.

Talking to my Mum today about Tobes and how I still miss the feeling of calm he exuded. Whenever I was wound up all I had to do was literally sit next to Toby and stroke him. He worked wonders that little ginger guy.

She talked to me a little about Oscar who she lost recently too. (He has a thread in here, he was a gent.) We're both finding it hard to let go.

Aww, Carrie was so special to me and I know your Carrie is just as special to you as well.

Having a good old weep when the realisation hits is painful but necessary, and the feeling of loss will ease in time.

Thanks C&Ps. I have a Carrie too, she's about 18 this year - I've had her in my life for 13 years.

Tobes was extremely special. I'm not a weeping wreck, but from time to time it hits me and I have a cry.

It is so hard to get used to life without a loved one, be they human or non-human. When I lost Carrie after 19 years, I was devastated and it took me months to come to terms with the loss. She was such an integral part of my life for so long and I'd only just accepted the loss of Penny, another much loved cat after 16 years.

It does take a while to come to terms with a bereavement but one thing that kept me going is the knowledge that there will always be animals that need a home and while ever I can help as many as I can, I'll keep going for them.

I, and everyone else here understands what your going through Jack and I hope it gets easier for you soon.

Still not used to it, Sue. I find myself waiting for him to trot through when I turn a tap on - he was a terror for trying to drink from the tap when I was brushing my teeth!

He is extremely missed Dee. Never demanding, terribly unassuming and had an aura of calm. Just sitting with him made me relax. I guess he's still here to a degree.

So sorry to hear of your loss.

I know how hard it is to come to terms with a furry that is no longer where you expect them to be in your home and how bare a house can seem without them.

I haven't seen one actually. Has been a couple of cases of unexplained drippy taps though (Tobes had a tap obsession) - I decided it might be him letting me know he's still about. Odd how the thought process works.

Hi JS. I try and steer clear of Rainbow Bridge for obvious reasons but wanted to pop in and send a

Special ones like Toby leave a very big gap that always seems impossible to fill. Hopefully things are getting a little easier now esp with the young wipper snapper running you ragged. Obviously Toby will never be forgotten but he would be so pleased that you found space to offer Astryd all the love and attention she needs to thrive. Just like you did for the gorgeous Toby

Just wanted to see Toby's picture again. What a lovely little lad. I can't help thinking how him and Parsley will be watching the antics of young Astryd and shaking their heads in rueful amusement at the antics of this latest addition to their family.

In two days it will be a month since we had to let Toby go. I still think about him every day and miss him very much.
