They seem fine today, thanks, MM.  :Luv: Going from strenght to strenght. But the wait for the results is becoming draining.  :tired:

Glad to hear this, and even if they do have FIV, it isn't a death sentence, so hopefully these two are now strong enough to deal with it.

Romney and Hythe are bombing around like lunatics today. They are certainly pushing boundaries and finding new ways to be naughty. :evillaugh: I can't see a thing wrong with them. Still looking a tad thin, of course, but they have nice sparkly eyes and glossy coats now - signs of their improved diet taking effect, I'm sure.  :)

We still haven't heard back from Bristol, but Rob will call me as soon as he knows. He may even chivvy them if we hear nothing by the end of today. I'm trying not to get my hopes up as they could still have nasties in their bloodstream, but they no longer look as weak and sleepy as they were at the start of the week.  :shy:

Regardless of the outcome PB you are doing a wondeful job with the little ones and have shown them love, affection and how to enjoy their little lives, no matter how short a time that may be.  I know it doesn't make it any easier but you have all of us here rooting for you and the little ones.

As Teresa said elsewhere I think, it really does help to know everyone is rooting for these babies. It can feel very lonely and a bit daunting thinking you have sole charge of these precious little things.  :innocent:

Sole charge, yes, but with an army of us to support you.

Romney and Hythe have been making real progress in the last 48 hours, and I'm more hopeful than I've ever been about them. Hythe is still quite small but he seems to be following Romney's lead and maturing well. There always seems to be a stage when they become more independent and don't need you as much. They have both learned to climb since yesterday, and they have formed an escape committee - it's always a sign they are getting ready for higher and better things when they show an interest in the world outside the room, I think.

And believe it or not, I also like it when they start being naughty!  :evillaugh: :) Today, Romney was caught fleeing from the linen cupboard dragging my daughter's bra in his teeth. We think he had plans to construct a DIY hammock.

I will be so shocked and upset if their bloods come back with horrid results. But this whole experience has been a roller coaster and I must learn not to get my hopes up.  :tired:

I just got an email from Rob the vet. He said they send their in-house tests for a free check at the Bristol lab - so no cost  :)

Rather than send separate emails, I phoned the vet but he isn't sure of the cost until he phones them. I was asked to email the question to them and they will reply when they know

I will do that now.

I didn't stop to ask about the costs, I'm afraid, as my head is still spinning. Maybe Sharon or Mark could phone and ask?

I will phone if you want me to Julie but it's one of those things and the money will have to be found for it - I'm sure Sharon will agree. I can't imagine it will be a ridiculous amount.

Just so sorry you (and the poor babies) had to go through that

Hi, folks.   Thanks to everyone for all your kind words and wishes.  :Luv:

I'm feeling quite drained now. It was horrid and obvious as soon as I found her that she only had minutes left. I couldn't think of a painless way to end her suffering so I just sat talking and singing to her. I hope I helped her a little, but she kept crying out and it broke my heart... Terry has now told me he she was eating and fine at 7.30am, so all this happened within the space of an hour.  :(

Yes, this mornings tests still show NEG for FeLV but a very slight raised result for FIV. Rob showed me the slides and it's very similar to a human pregnancy test, with a blue band running down the strip if it's positive. Hythe's result show a feint 'blip' in the strip, but not a full band as Hastings was. The Bristol results will confirm one way or another. I can promise you Romney and Hythe are not going to go through this and if the Bristol results are positive, we will say goodbye to them on our terms when we are ready before they are stolen from us like the others.  :'( :'(

I didn't stop to ask about the costs, I'm afraid, as my head is still spinning. Maybe Sharon or Mark could phone and ask?

It's a good job I don't drink because I'd be as  :censored: as a frog by now. Instead I shall take my revenge on some Thorntons.  :shy:

I dont know the results or anything, but Rob is great and he decided to send blood away even with us asking him to.  I can only image that something isnt right, but it doesnt nec mean we are dealing with FIV again... Good news that Romney is clear though. I do feel that we are dealing with two litters here...
Cannot save the world, but if everyone does something we can have a jolly good job trying too....
