My Tibby from CPL is also the fussiest cat I have ever known - a sparrow eats more than him, but I always have 3 lots of dried complete food as well and he does seem to eat a bit of that.
He seems to like more fishy varieties.  have you tried the pate kind in the tiny tins - he will eat them when he is really hungry - lol
I think cats are more fussy eaters than toddlers lmao
Good luck - she is beautiful xx

well all fingers are crossed.  We have put her on our adoption pages but as of yet we haven't had any enquries about her.  I'm sure something will turn up for her soon but failing that she has a safe place with mum permanently, if needed.  :)

well mum has decided that she feels she would be selfish to keep Cassie so has opted to put her up for homing to see if we can find a new home where she will be spoilt rotten as an only cat or at least a home where there are not so many animals.

Have put her forward to see if we can find her a placement so will just have to wait and see.

On a good note though her eating has sorted itself out and she is eating quite well... she has even decided she will try canned cat food now too!  ;D

All fingers now crossed that we find little Cassie a nice quiet home where she can get all the love and attention she deserves for the rest of her years!

Just a wee update!

Cassie is doing fine in herself but still being a picky madam about food. We have picked up some cheap tesco food just need to get it down to mums for her to try with Cassie!!

Cassie has become rather attached to the dogs... especially mums GSD... and tried to follow him outside yesterday which raised some hilarity!  little minx! lol..

will get some more piccies when I get down.. hopefully later today!

thanks guys, we managed to get her to eat some tinned tuna yesterday!!   woo hoo!! the cheap variety this time... she wouldn't eat the John West!!!   (mind boggles)  not a lot but compared to what she has been eating it was a start!

Got hold of some natures menu and going to try her on that and see how we get on if we heat it slightly like you suggested Liz.   She is bright enough in herself ... just driving us crazy with being so flamin awkward in eating.  We checked again with the vet the other day about any more background but Cassie wasn't registered with our vet... they just handed her in their to be PTS.

Good news too though is that we have finally got her using the litter box after 2/3 days in a pen.  bless her... she's such a sweetie too... a real cuddle bum.

will get more piccies soon!

We heat the A/d in the microwave for 10 seconds Gracie won't eat it straight out of the tin!

Also have you tried liquivite - again heated for 10 secs shame only our youngsters like this the oldies look at you like you are trying to poison them

Kitten food also works the Supermeat one again warmed for 10 secs and mashed up

Sometimes I wonder where my day goes! ;)

We've already tried the A/D to no avail... she will take a few wee licks of your finger but that's it.   Its not that she is having difficulty eating, she just won't eat!!!  little madam!

We've tried her with tuna, wouldn't take it, but would eat a little of the 70% fish sachet.... well about 1/4 of one... and wouldn't take any more.  She has taken a little raw meat but again... very sparingly.

Like the catnip idea... will give that a go... and will look into the baby food!

the things we do for cats!!! lol

Missed this as was on holiday when she was rescued, so glad your Mum was able to take her  :)

Have you tried Hills A/D with her, thats fairly palatable.  You could also try putting tuna water (the juice from tune in brine) on her normal food, or catnip sprinkled on it, also baby food is good for tempting cats to eat - make sure it has no onions though.  I think the only suitable one in the UK is Heinz 'Mum's own' Beef flavour.

Hope she starts to tuck in soon  :)

looks like we've hit a snag with our wee cassie.... getting her to eat!!!!

At the moment we have tried just about anything and she won't look at food.... other than raw meat or a wee bit of fish.... she barely eating enough to keep a sparrow going.... but we are still trying but running out of ideas... so any you can think of would be much appreciated????

well I popped down to see Cassie yesterday afternoon and she seems to be doing well.  More confident and comes out from her wee hiding place as soon as you walk in and just craves attention the wee star that she is.

Extremely affectionate and doesn't look anywhere near her age.  I got another couple of decent pics so will post those in a wee whiley.

Having problems getting her to use the litter tray at the moment so we may have to pen her for a  few days til she works it out but we are definately beginnng to wonder about the story told re her bullying.   She met with one of mums other cats yesterday morning and was absolutely fine apart from a very small hiss.... which to me if she was being as badly bullied as they were trying to make out she would have freaked at another cat???  who knows, but as we all know we very rarely get the truth in these cases.

I am hopeful for Cassie...and know that she will make someone a wonderful companion cat as she is just SOOOO adorable!  :Luv2:

couldn't agree more Gail... isn't she just the most beautiful little girl ??

checked in with mum this morning and she seems to be doing well.  Still very unsure and hasn't eaten yet but hardly surprising poor wee mite.

We did find out her name was Minnow... but mum wants to give her a happy name for a happy fresh start so has taken to calling her Cassie, which I think is quite nice :)    Plus I also think mum is happy at being given the opportunity to 'name' one of our little ones lol

She only cried for  a short while last night when the house went dark but has been out and roaming about the room and investigating and today is running out to meet mum whenever she enters the room so that is a positive sign.

Going to leave her to settle for a few days then I'll head down at the weekend and get some more piccies and have a closer look at her as we didn't want to mess her about yesterday as she had been through enough the poor wee mite.

Aww, fingers crossed for her. I think my mum has given up saying anything at my new fosters, and she does tell strangers what I do, so maybe she is secretly proud. Mind you, part of her 'acceptance' could be it means I wont make her a grandma!!

thanks Guys,  well here is the bit you've been waiting on... piccies of little kitty.

It turns out her name is Minnow and she really is the sweetest of little girls ever.  I left her at my mothers mad house to settle in so hopefully she will be feeling a bit better tomorrow as she was very out of sorts today... but then she has been through a big ordeal today with lots of strangers.  Even though she has never once not been the sweetest little darling.  I really hope we can find something permanent for her.

Here are the pics hubby took when we got her down there.... she wasn't too keen on coming out of her little box so we left her there for a while.  aint she :Luv2:

Your mum isn't that bad  :evillaugh:

She told your dad off for leaving the front door open when he went to the car  :evillaugh:

I get a few sarcastic remarks from OH - eg. I went to the vet to get some Milbemax the other day. I asked if he wanted anything while I was out "Yes, why don't you get another kitty as we don't have enough"  :tired:

won't we just Lesley!  lol....

Well the good news is that I've managed to persuade my mum to take her in for a while.  Mum is great at helping out with these kinds of cases and doesn't mind holding onto them for a while so as to allow me to concentrate on finding a placement for her.

I'll be off to collect in a couuple of hours so at least she won't have to spend the night in a lonely kennel.  Will post some pics and more info when I have it later! :)

got it in a nutshell Sam....  so glad they handed her into our vet and not any of the others and the nurse at the vets says she is the sweetest little cat too.  I have a possible foster lined up for her for a couple of weeks but still need to find her somewhere permanent as I just don't physically have room at the moment.    Only thing against her is her age but it won't stop me from trying for the poor wee mite.  :wish:

That's so sad ... so because she is a sensitive soul being picked on by others they think she should be PTS  >:( >:(  Fingers crossed they don't have any children being bullied at school!

Good luck in sorting something out for this little girl.
