Pedro (Diablos brother) has been in vets all morning with bowel blockage, he has had soap enema and been xray and may need to be gassed again tomorrow, vet cant be sure of anything yet but Andy told me to pray its nothing deformed inside, we are hoping for worms, have seen xray and its not really conclusive excvept he is still blocked, Rebecca has gassed him twice today and dare not risk anymore, typically Pedro was the one I was least worried about.he is home with me until 9am tomorrow.

All others ok, may not be able to update due to computer on its way out.

Strange to think as well, that even in his deaf state, he was crying his little heart out for help for him and his littermates.  If he hadn't been so vocal, they may never have got a chance.  What a smashing little feller.

What a little fighter Diablo is.  It must be so scary for him being unable to see and hear, but I know that he takes great comfort in your cuddles and attention. Lets hope that whatever problems appear for this little man that he can over come them with your help.  Cuddles to all of these little ones.

Take care T, I know the feeding regime amongst the washing and caring for the rest of the residents will be taking its toll, but you know that these little ones were sent to you for a reason, and they are being watched by a very special man.

I am sorry to hear that too.  But come what come may, Diablo is better being cared for at Paws Inn.

Hope Pedro can be sorted out.  Good news about the others.

Been to vet for re check this morning and Diablo is indeed blind and deaf, Andy says there is a slight chance his sight may return but he doubts it,he thinks he may have neurological problems over and above the cat flu. I am used to getting bad news but somehow this has knocked me for six.
Pedro has a slight bowel problem and has had an enema this morning, looks like he is a bit under developed at present.
Marguerita, Lollipuss, Mooch,Monkey and Huggi all making great progress.
Will try and get some pics of the 4 bigger ones later.

I do hope the little ones make it. We too have taken in little ones with eyes in the most horrendous condition, the only difference being that the kittens we took in had an owner but did not take them to the vets as she thought bathing would resolve the problem. Eventually she rang me and I authorised her to take them to the vets, her vet said they were too young to operate and prescribed eye cream. Two of the kittens had like little pink grapes completely covering the eye ball and one who I named Treacle had what was like a pyramid over the eye so when you put on the eye cream it hung like a fu Manchu moustache. I rushed them to my vets immediately and when a vet saw them he called two more vets so they could work on one kitten each. I was told that if they did not operate on Treacle immediately his eye would burst. Of course he lost that eye, eventually over a period of weeks one of the kittens almost recovered and her eyes just occasionally needs eye cream, the other kittens eyes never fully recovered although she does have limited sight.

It's appalling to think what would have happened here if the woman hadn't been persistent, and if you hadn't been (as always) ready to step in, Teresa.

Poor little souls must have been going through hell.  Am very glad to see Diablo's eyes looking better, and hoping that all of them make it to healthy happy adulthood and can get good, caring and loving homes.

Hugs for all of them             (and some spares for you!)

He is looking so much better T, a credit to your care and attention as always. Everything crossed for him and all the little ones, hoping that they will all do well.

We have experienced similar frustrations to you with a very similar situation involving kittens becoming very ill and fortunately being taken care of by our brilliant kitten fosterer but we've been unable to get other "organisations" to help so I sympathise entirely.

You are doing a brilliant job T  :Luv:

Tell him to keep fighting and getting stronger.

Millys mum, the rescue you mention have already expressed their opinion on the matter, one I disagree with otherwise the kittens would still be where they were. I will sort out the adults somehow, just need to think it through.

6 of the 7 are bright and making good progress, Pedro has been a little down since 4am and not really wanting to feed,he seems to have a bit of a bowel overflow and has dripped enough to keep the washing machine in full time employment, after several hours of stimulation we got a hard plug out and he began to eat, he is still bunged , may give him an enema if it continues. Diablo has his eyes open most of the time now trouble is his haw is more than half way across the eye so he cannot see, he does not react to my voice but reacts to vibration. The big 4 are all lapping and using their litter tray now so things are a lot more manageable.

I am more than angry that these cats have been left to die in agony; this will happen again unless I can figure the best way to sort the adults out. The area is one I don't want to go back to,its a case of get the wrong cat in the trap and the knives or guns come out, I am not joking or exaggerating.
There are around 15 cats some feral some owned all in terrible condition; in this case I can understand other rescues refusing to help, I cant just leave them but for once I cant think of my next move,I need to think of something.

It does make me very angry that a so-called rescue would advise someone to leave cats screaming in distress until they die.  >:(

Thank goodness you were there for these little ones, Teresa, and I hope you can work a few more miracles
