poor Pedro has had another enema as he hasn`t been since the scare on Thursday night and he is back on the lactulose.

What was the scare, Teresa?  Am I being dense (entirely possible)?

Great news about their weights and I hope this will mean their little systems can adapt to the medication and quickly eliminate the parasites.  Is there any risk of cross-contamination to Minimopsical (I am sure you have this covered)?

All fingers firmly crossed for a speedy resolution and good news.

Talk about unexpected! Poor little ones - it's a tribute to the care they've had that they are doing so well in spite of it all.  Everything crossed that the medication does the trick.

Just flying in with a quick update, all 3 weighed and had injection this morning; vet has warned they may be a little lethargic due to the medication but told me not to worry;poor Pedro has had another enema as he hasn`t been since the scare on Thursday night and he is back on the lactulose.

Was thrilled with their weight gain this week, they now weigh
Marguerita = 420grams
Pedro       = 450grams
Diablo       = 570grams

All 7 of the kittens are seeing Rebecca at 11.10 am Monday.

Have given Christine the name of the parasite.

Will this be published in a vets journal or something so that the information can be passed onto other vets?

Gill I really cant answer your question as it is the last thing I would ever have thought of.

Oh my word, Teresa (I'm still here...  :evillaugh:) that's dreadful.  Very worrying, but if anyone can get them through this medication business then you can.  I do hope all of them will respond well, poor little mites.  It's no good.  I'd better have another "nom nom nom" while I'm here......    :cuddle: :cuddle: :cuddle: :cuddle: :cuddle: :cuddle: :cuddle:  (one each)

Right.  I'm going now.  Honest.  :shy:

Rebecca vet phoned today with some test results which have astounded us all, the kittens have an internal parasite which is usually found in calves and sheep and birds; she and other vets at surgery have Never known it to be in a cat before and cannot understand how these little ones have survived like they have. Rebecca has done a lot of research and discussed this with colleagues and they are confident that they have come up with the right medication; the main danger is the harshness of the drugs needed with them being such for tiny kittens and added to that Pedro`s mega colon. Fortunately Rebecca is a brilliant vet who I trust implicitly so I am confident we can overcome this. So tomorrow morning they are off to vets for weighing and injections and some special drugs have been ordered for Monday when all 7 babies will be weighed and medicated. Rebecca says this would account for the mothers abandoning them.

We lovingly call these Busters Babes as I swear he guided them to us  :Luv:,think he knew how much I loved a challenge.

I think Minimopsical really is a wonderful cat.  To think how good she is with all of your huge foster family Teresa, she's an exceptional little soul.   If we could give awards like People of Britain awards for Cats, she'd have to be up there with the best.  :hug:  The Queen would be honoured to have minimopsical go to visit  :wow:  Watch out you Corgis!  ;)

Glad to see them all so lively and healthy. As for Minimopsical, you lot have to feel some sympathy for her. She's totally adorable and teaches these kittens some manners however, I fear she's been overpowered by their antics.  :evillaugh:

Sir Ranulph Fiennes has expressed an interest in taking Diablo on his next mountaineering mission due to his superb skills in scaling the laundry basket!!   :wow:

And just in - Real Madrid, disappointed in their inability to secure Cristiano Renaldo, have announced that Pedro is their next choice as fabulous footballer of the season!!   :wow: :wow:

They are gaining weight at last, when I pick them up they no longer feel like empty shells; I can at last go to bed at night and leave them with food and know that they will be fine until 6am, a huge relief.
Diablo and Pedro love having play fights in Minimopsicals toilet (good job its always clean).
2nd pic is Minimopsical taking a minute off sharing food with Marguerita so she can keep an eye on Diablo and Pedro.
I think Diablo can see and hear plenty now.

Sometimes when you struggle alone to save a little life it really helps you to post your woes and see them in a funny sort of light; now these 3 little ones gave me more worry and grey hairs than I would have believed possible and I was so near breaking point; Sue Paddysmum you dont realise it but your little replys gave me the strength to carry on, please dont ever change  :hug:
After almost 3 weeks they are finally all eating and pooping normally and running Minimopsical off her legs.

Special thanks to Paddy for using his special powers.
