while on
work experience at an RSPCA centre in Preston.
Emily Scott, who is studying animal care at Myerscough College, was
attacked by the dog while she was cleaning out its kennel at the
Ribbleton Avenue centre in Ribbleton.
She was treated at the Royal Preston Hospital for severe nose injuries.

The dog was destroyed and the RSPCA and the Health and Safety Executive
have launched an investigation into the incident.
A spokesman for the college said: "As always we carry out risk
assessments and all students work under the guidance of the staff at the
centre.
"This seems like a tragic accident and the details will no doubt become
clearer when investigations have taken place."
