Now, if he can learn that the kitchen is the "pill place" and knows if he gets stung he needs some help WHY cant he learn to leave bees and wasps alone ?  :(

:thanks: WC, gentle hug dispensed  :) He's actually not quite as clever as it sounds and has learnt that the kitchen is the "Webbox treat" place  :evillaugh: I had to take the Webbox and a knife into the living room as the floor was wet with the chemicals and didn't want him to touch the wet floor, he was batting the knife with his poorly paw as I wasn't cutting the webbox open as quickly as he liked  :-:

 :tired: ... and again!

He was so sweet bless him - I was cleaning the kitchen floor and he poked his head round the door as he always goes into the kitchen for a tablet when he gets stung.  I was shooing him out as the floor was wet with chemicals but he persevered and kept poking his little head round the door, I then noticed his not so little foot and gave him his 'fix' for the day  :naughty:

He needs urgent help, Helen. :-:  The sooner you get him into rehab and let the withdrawal take its hold the better. Imagine in the winter when the buzzies are fewer and far between. Take control now!

:naughty:

You're right - just need to get him out of the loft first  :evillaugh:

I think he's a Piriton addict!  :scared:

:-: is there a kitty rehab center?

Funny you should say that, his little routine is to get stung then come and cuddle up against me, I spot the paw and call him into the kitchen and his tail goes all fuzzy at the base like he's getting erm *excited* about getting his Piriton fix  :naughty:

Only yesterday I was thinking how it was ages since Riley has been stung  :tired:

I always get them in before it starts to go dark but they do like it when the sun starts to go down and they get all crazy chasing each other so I decided to let them have 5 more minutes - at this stage his paw is completely normal. Seconds later I looked out of the window to see Riley's paw the size of a balloon  :tired:

He's just had his tablet in a slice of ham then sprinted back outside chasing Lu - this boy feels no pain  I also have a very slim chance of getting them in before it goes completely dark as his tummy is full of ham and Lu is a little  :censored:

I'm so glad I asked the vet about giving him it (thanks to whoever it was who mentioned it on here - think it was CC :thanks:). The foot goes down much quicker so must be less discomfort for him.

So muh for getting straight to bed after that night shift ...

I know  :tired: 9am is my absolute latest bedtime  :naughty:

I hope that with all these stings he will start to build up an immunity......

Whilst many people do become less sensitive to stings with repeated exposure, the opposite can be true and some people (usually bee keepers ) have been known to develop severe allergy leading to anaphylactic shock.  (Of course a few unfortunate people develop this type of allergy after only one sting). I'm sure you have to have  helluva a lot of stings though for this to happen.  I've no idea if the same is also true for wasp stings (although I would think so).

Poor Riley I do hope he either learns to give the nasty stingy things a wide berth or beomes desensitised SOON  :Luv2:

...and again  :tired:

Poor baby must have run straight upstairs to see me, I noticed his paw was slightly swollen and by the time we had got downstairs to where the piriton is it was increasing in size.  It's obviously fate as I was in the supermarket last night and thought to myself shall I get some more Webbox treats to hide tablets in - I decided not to and less than 24 hours later I needed them  :innocent:

Hope I am not tempting fate but none of mine have been stung as far as I know,

I swelled up like that the time before last though and wasnt well at all, was told that some bees are of a hybrid now in London and surrounds and can cause probs to people that dont normally have problems.

It took me 2 hours to get a wasp down from the sky light yesterday as hte cats were both waiting with bated breath for it to swoop their way! It would have been gone in a swallow if they had their way  I was so paranoid! I got it in the end though. It was a bruiser!!
