   Sorry

My 5yo, yes 5 year old still to this evening poops on my kitchen floor oh and in the bath  I really dont know why he does this? My other 4 use the tray fine. Im gauranteed a poop on the floor/ in bath once a day, after 5 years I have just give up.

If she wants to poop on the floor I dont see what could be done yes you can try the tips but if the cat chooses the cat has  :shy:

I would put a second tray next to the first one for now and see if she uses that, or still the carpet.

If she uses the second tray too it means she likes two trays  and then I would progress to put a third tray in the area you want it to be. Everything needs to be done slowly and she will get the hang of it.

When I put a tray in the bathroom Ducha found it very quickly and stopped using downstairs ones at all.  Then Misa found it and started to try to make it his but got tired of walking upsairs LOL. Now Sasa has taken over he bathroom and reckon she uses it too.

Cats are amazing and so clever  ;D

Well i changed the litter - so I am changing it back but I am worried it's not that simple. No bad experiences, although i wonder if an overnight at the vets set her off? will persevere.....

I have carpet protector as well as newspaper under my trays to help the carpet. IF she was using it at first and not now, there could be a medical reason behind it, or she might have developed some weird issues over either the tray or the litter - any bad experiences when she was having her bad dos?

Thanks I've been doing that but when she arrived she was using the tray so I am sure I can get her to use it again. No i don't want to stress her, but my poor carpets can't take it!

i personally would just put newspaper down under the tray - if she was a young cat, it would be worth trying to train her, but with her health issues, you dont want to stress her out. She might settle in time anyway.

Put down an extra tray or two with different litter types and see what she choose to use. Extra fine clumping litter like sand is good, tesco sell one called sophisticat choice, its £5 and comes in a refillable plastic tub  ;)

Its wonderful that she is doing so well, shes a smart one knowing who to suck up to  :sneaky:

ET doing well apart from litter tray habits - advice?
Hi all,

ET continue to demonstrate the cat capacity of nine lives, her breathing is good and she is eating like a pig. Starting to really come out of herself now- she sat on OH's lap for 3 hours for teh frist time yesterday and purred away. (Totally discounting the fact I am on the one who feds her, changes her tray etc).

Anyway just a small problem. I would like to move her tray out the living room and into the hall, now she has more confidence to explore the flat. But whilst she wees in there fine she insists on doing numbers 2s by the side of the tray. this is deliberate not mis-fire! I've tried moving the tray and it all the litter is changed once or twice a day.

She never does it when I am around so i can't grab her put her on the tray.

Any ideas? This is happening everyday  >:(
