YOU paid a BIG part in getting him away, so hugs to you.xx

he is a super little fella. Hearing and seeing these babes just makes me love my babes even more. How anyone could do this is beyond me.  If I could nuke all evil humans and just leave animal loving ones I would, and what a fab world it would be.

I can't take any credit for this. I've not really solved anything - little Oddie is now safe and warm, but Teresa still needs to find him a new home.

It's Teresa that deserves the praise  :)

You gotta take some credit. If it weren't for you confronting the situation, anything could've happened to the wee fella. That's a fact.

The more stories like this I read the more I think that no-one should be allowed to have a cat until they've passed a written test on basic cat care and responsibility.

Well done to Carl and Teresa

Well done. Great to see these things solved amicably. You deserve a wee medal, Carl  ;)

He is a handsome little fella. I really wish I could have kept him here, I took to him straight away. I asked his 'owner' if he'd been vaccinated, to which she replied "I didn't know they need them"

He didn't even have a name. Thats the bit that grates. 7 months old and not even a name.

Another little one saved from an inevitable life of cold and hunger by Teresa.

A really happy outcome to this tale all thanks to Carl (Billy and Baggys dad) who deserves a medal for his diplomatic skills and aquired Oddie legally before delivering him to me.
Oddie is currently in disgrace after peeing and tishing in my car on return from vets after having his first vaccinations, he will be neutered microchipped and blood tested tomorrow as punishment :)
Heres a couple of pics

Bit of an update on this little one. I went over last night and confronted the owner. Within seconds they admitted that they didn't want it, and would we have it?

After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing and a late night dash, little Oddie (as he's now known) is a new resident at Paws Inn.

Are you suggesting cat napping Ela?

I thought cat rescue people were all against that? Well I suppose if the cat is neglected...

Of course not ;) that would be against the law.

 Before considering that extreme I'm going to see how it fares at my cousins. If there is no hassle from the neighbours, then it should be ok.

think, after just speaking to my cousin, that is what will happen - she'll take it in.

Perhaps it wuld be wise for the little one to be relocated in a different area providing it is not chipped of course.

Which part of the country is it in?

It's just sad thinking people will go and get another, or maybe getting 1 has made them realize they don't really want 1. Poor little mite, I'm sure he will be well cared for now.  :)

I think, after just speaking to my cousin, that is what will happen - she'll take it in. She didn't really want to at first because of any possible comeback from her neighbours, but at the end of the day they appear to have washed their hands of it.

I don't know how you rescue folks cope hearing this sort of thing all the time.

How old is the kitten? Surely it's better to get the kitten off the streets before it starts tomming, or anything horrible happens to it. Would your cousin be able to take the kitten in? I was in the same sort of situation a few years ago, the neighbors who wernt very nice and were a bit dumb to speak to, kept leaving their kitten outside overnight aswell, the kitten was about 12 weeks old I would say. I used to bring him into my house for a feed and some shelter but it was like the kitten was possessed, he just ran around attacking my cat's. A short time after the neighbors moved out  leaving him behind, sadly I couldn't take him in and I didn't see him after that.

Help Needed Please!!!
« Reply #1 on: January 15, 2007, 10:15:02 AM »
Hello everyone, got a bit of a problem I think ...

My cousin's next door neighbour has a kitten (or young cat), which, apparently, isn't too well looked after - not let in the house often, and is always after food from my cousin's house. My cousin very rarely sees her neighbours, so can't ask them about it, and is reticent to as they aren't the nicest people about.

So ... what to do? I hate to think of a kitten being cold and hungry. Its been driving me loopy this weekend, I've not slept too much thinking about it. I couldn't really keep it here with Bilbo and Baggins - the landlord wouldn't be best pleased, but are there any options? What would you do? Help!
