I'd give it a good clean and give it away to a charity shop. Theres nothing wrong with it in regards to hygiene but i couldnt eat any food out of it again

i found a poo parcel in my bath once courtesy of one of my naughty moggs, the image stayed in my mind for weeks after whenever i used the shower/bath .. so to use the wok after a poo parcel has been disposited in it woooooo !!!! for me personally i would chuck it out.
Naturally a good scrub etc will remove the offending doo doo ...

But saying that it really is a matter of how you deal with the idea of using it again knowing what you know ..

Question is are you going to be able to eat anything made in it ever again? I'm pretty sure bleach would do the trick. I think I'd do bleach and about 8 dishwashing cycles (by which time the electricity's paid for a new pan). I hope it doesn't happen again though

I know what you mean about false smell syndrome. I can't use simple solution any more as it smells like cat wee to me

I just could not enjoy anything after it was cooked in it

I'm quite happy to kiss their paws (even after digging around in the litter tray) and although I don't really want them on the worksurface it's not the end of the world... but a poo - in a pan

Every time I used it I'd get a false smell synrome and think I could smell poo cooking!

Maybe a cycle on hot after disinfecting. The trouble is I could never enjoy anything cooked in it after that

It shouldnt harm if you just put some anti bac wash up liquid in water in the wok and bring to the boill as that will kill any nasties lurking!

I don't know Michelle. To be honest, when we had our house flooded after a heavy rain, all our pots, pans, plastic goods were in the direct level of the flood water. We had to assume the water was compromised and replaced everything (granted we had insurance for that as it paid for a new kitchen too), but if it is a teflon coated pan I would replace it. If its not coated and has no scratches then I guess a good sterilisation would be fine?

Of course it will be fine. I would be a different matter if it was a porous surface but i am sure that stainless steel (or iron) will be just fine with a good wash. If you feel particularly perturbed, then some disinfectant and boiling water. But do make sure you rinse it thoroughly after the treatment. You will probably have to re-cure the wok after that sort of vigorous treatment though ...

Hi,

If you clean it out and then boil some water in it with 1/2 lemon in it should get rid of any lingering bleachy or other

odours.

Makes your kitchen smell nice too

I would have thought if you scrubbed it out several times with boiling water and bleached it that it would be ok provided you can get the thought of the poo out of your head.

I left my wok out last night and Lala has poohed in it

I really dont want to throw it away as it wasnt cheap,
Do you think it would be safe to bleach it and keep it ?
Or should i chuck it away ?

Or should i just only cook hubbys dinner in it in future ?
