I have never had any luck feeding JWB - in fact, I was throwing it on the flat roof at the back of the gas showroom next door for the starlings this morning  :evillaugh:

Oh dear. Think I've been starving em all.  :scared:  Just opened the science plan with tuna bag and there are 3 snouts in trough munching leaving the JWB untouched.

Totally agree MM. Far too much liquid.  It says to apply 2nd tube after the 1st tube has dried which should take about an hour. I wasn't going to keep Billy locked in the carrier for an hour so applied 2nd tube a day later. It's a right song and dance getting him into carrier. Exhausting for both of us.  I shouldn't think leaving it a day will hurt much. In any event it's done and I'll keep an eye on him. He jumped on my lap in the garden last night. Don't know what's got into him  :shify: :)

He was very active chasing da mousey in the garden last night with gusto. Surely it can't be working that quickly?  :shocked: No poo in the house since Sunday so can't check about diarrhoea. I still half wonder if the sick and poo might be the change of dry food from science plan to JWB lamb and rice. None of them seem that keen. Am going to put out a choice I think.

Both droncits should go on at the same time  :shy: i hate them, too much liquid. Think you can have droncit injected  :-:

Advocate is good, like stronghold it does earmites  ;D

Thanks for that Mark. Very useful. 

I see that Milbemax tasty also requires a prescription so might as well get vet to give it to Billy next time around.  You can tell our little fella is a little out of sorts coz he's being very very friendly. Even curled up on my lap for a short while last night after I applied 1st treatment which is maybe 2nd time since he arrived 2 years ago. Just rang vet and VN said to give worm treatment a few days to work and bring him in Wed/Thurs if still got the trots.  I'll be lucky to know iwhether he has or not of course.

It is one application - there are different sizes depending on weight of cat (same price) but I wasn't that impressed with it due to them being stuck with the smell for days. Also my vet said it isn't as effective as a pill. I am persevering with Milbemax tasty as if they won't eat it as a treat, it's small enough to hide in food. Also, I don't think Profender covers heartworm/lungworm?  - also, it's 3 x the price of a pill.

showing what treatment covers what - I thought lungworm & heartworm were the same thing?

So I guess it's OK to use profender if you use stronghold?

Could anyone tell me if Profender is just a one application treatment please?  I got some Droncit spot on for Billy (I know it only does tapeworm) and was disappointed to find that 2 applications are required for cats between 2.5 and 5kg.  Billy is 4.4kg

Think Billy may have worms due to sickness (twice last week) and diarrhoea (only noticed the latter this morning as Billy uses outside usually)  He is eating and drinking OK.  Getting him into basket for treatment is a "trial" so finding out I have to do it twice was most unwelcome  >:(  1st batch applied today.  Frontlined him 2 weeks ago.

Advocate does not do tapeworm - You are better with Profender. You will need to get it from your vet

I got it from my vet - it was about £7 for one vial. One of mine is alergic to Stronghold so I have to use a flea only spot on + the profender. It is quite smelly. I did it last Saturday and can still smell it on his neck  :sick:

Advocate does a treatment that treats cats up to 8kg, the breeder of our Bengals recommended it so we got some from the vets last week, havnt used it yet though as they are not due for another week.

Can anyone recommend a spot-on broad spectrum worming treatment I can use on my cats?

Keli is a standard weight cat (approx 4.5-5kg), but the boys are huge (at least 7kg!)

Any thoughts?
