Hope you still got the container with code number on cos it may be a batch that needs to be recalled.

The Frontline Combo is something I dont need to use; I only use frontline if cat is due worming with Milbemax at same time; Stronghold is by far my preferred treatment and I will certainly not use Combo again despite vet not having the normal Frontline anymore.
Olly has been prescribed a topical gel. The bald patch is actually a burn.

Des we have no problems and no fleas on 40 delinquents so for us it works and I wouldn't go back to anything else as it also  means a second free health check at the vet when they get the second injection and it means the vet sees our ferals to in their crush cage for an up close view although the cats might have a difering opinion on that! :innocent:

Aww, the poor baby - I used to use Frontline Combo, as it is the only one my vets stock, but now I use normal Frontline.
Liz, how do you get on with the Program injection? My vet says it only sterilises them, so you need to still use Spot On's from time to time, so I didn't bother with it.
Please spay your cat

I've used the Frontline Pipettes as well as Advantage before. But never seen a reaction like that. T, that looks so sore. Poor Olly, a big cuddle to him

Poor Olly.   I've used Frontline Combo on Charlie with no problems.

That looks so sore!

Has the vet prescribed any kind of topical treatment to reduce the inflammation?

Poor Olly hope he feels better soon

Akll the Clan cats and Dogs have Program now due to the twice we ended up with cats who had sores like Olly and a bald collie with patches.

Cats have the injection twice a year and the dogs a tablet every month and no more baldies in teh Clan cats and dogs

That look so sore. poor Olly

Why did you change from stronghold to frontline combo?

I use the former  but not often and all cats seem to be Ok  although cant check Sasa for fear of my life. From a short distance she looks OK.

Poor little Olly.  That looks so sore - have you not used that particular one before, or has he just reacted to one you've used before T?

Olly's Adverse Reaction to Flea Treatment
« Reply #1 on: April 05, 2008, 15:51:26 PM »
Olly was flea treated with Frontline Combo last weekend, it is the first time I have ever used this product.  Olly has suffered a bad reaction which needed veterinary intervention.  It may well be that Olly is simply allergic to this product or it is possible that this product is on the strong side. I don't know. I thought that it was important to let others see the damage that it might cause.  He has previously been treated with Stronghold without any ill effects.

It highlights the fact that owners should think about the treatments they use and also check their cats after they have administered topical treatments of this type.

The first two pictures show his injuries, and the last one shows him playing and being a brave boy.
