Hurrah!!!!

We love *all* cats in this household but have an extra-specially soft spot for persians. (Alfie & Wilf are our 5th & 6th persians) In fact, my OH, not usually prone to such statements, said yesterday "I don't think we could have normal cats-with-noses now . . . .)  :Luv2:

I am sure I will grow to love the names as much as I love the cats that own them!

To be honest, I doubt they'll get called their real names much (unless they are doing something naughty!!  :evillaugh:) Just ask Noosher-Sploosher-Floof-bar, our other cat

"Oi! My name is ANOOSH, if you don't mind! Humph! I shall lie here and sulk . . . . "

 :heeee heeee:

Okay.

Well, as you know, we did think we would name them Rufus (for Wilf) and Tugby (for Alfie.) Trouble is, in all the deliberating, we've got used to calling them Alfie and Wilf - or, more often, Alf and Wilfred, or The 'Freds.

And this afternoon, both went to be introduced to our vet and they are now officially registered . . . .as Alfie and Wilf.

I have mixed feelings about this - I have grown to love the name Wilf and it's a name that really suits this chap, but not so keen on Alfie. However, he's a bit of a pickle and somehow it fits. Tugby would have fitted too  . . . . . but. . . .  . .maybe they'll just have to have middle names!

I think that some other day in the future we may well use the names Rufus and Tugby (especially Tugby, which is we think is a SUPER name for a cat of immense character . . .) but for now, the 'Freds will stay as the 'Freds!

So, thanks all for voting - it was fun!

Alfie & Wilf. It's settled.

Wilf is a lovely name. I had a great uncle Blue whose real name was Wilf. He was the loveliest man I have ever known......... sweet, gentle, protective of his woman (auntie anne) and yet practical, hardy and a real worker. He was the best! :Luv:

Well, first of all, thank you so much for voting - it's been fun!  ;D

OH, daughter and I have had a chat this evening and we have realised that it is time to make that decision . . . . as you are aware, the cats came to us with the names Alfie (pale red) and Wilf (dark red.)  They weren't bad names but we weren't sure that they were. . . well, 'right' for these chaps. They certainly didn't respond to them!

And so we asked you to vote - and vote you did!   :thanks:

The results showed that the majority preferred Rufus, followed by Tugby. So, what have WE decided to do???

We were overjoyed; these were the two favourites of ours, too!  :Luv2:
We had  thought Rufus for Wilf, and Tugby for Alfie.

However, now we are not sure.  :tired: In the time that we have been waiting for the poll to conclude, we've been calling the cats Alfie and Wilf. Or Alfred and Wilfred. Or, referring to them as The Freds. Or Fred1 and Fred2. Or 'big chap'. Or 'BigLump'o'love'.

And now we are not sure if they are really suited to Rufus and Tugby - although that breaks our hearts slightly as we have always wanted red persians called Rufus and Tugby . . . . .  :-[

So, for the moment, we are sticking with Alfie & Wilf. But we are going to sleep on it - so ask us in the morning!  :sneaky:

Isn't it funny how we give our cats additional 'pet' names!  :evillaugh:

I used to call my Willow 'pinky' or 'little minky moo'
and i call Merlin 'little-black-boy-from-illanoi' or 'little man'

Well I know what I meant  :evillaugh:  Have been really busy with work and having mini early mid life crisis, heating broke for over a week - had 4 different engineers coming and temporarily fix it before it broke again, car broke down - twice, fence went up - then came down again in the strong winds before the concrete could set

They are coming back on Monday to re-do the fence but it'll probably be quite a while before I get a chance to get the catproofing up, will make a concerted effort when it stops raining/snowing/blowing a gail!

Crikey! trouble comes in threes, er fours - ummm think I've lost count LOL! Hope all thats broken is fixed sooooon! Can't wait to see the pics of those first footsteps into the big wide world - well, the back garden  :evillaugh:
