This is just so sad.

My Kocka went to the Bridge on the Saturday, I emailed Cp on Sunday, they got back to me the same day. The home checker came tues or wed and then drove me to the Gower to look at the cats and she drove me back.

On the Thursday I had an email to say, although I had not mentioned anything, that Misa and Sasa could be homed together if I was interested even though they had never met. Their rehoming ;ady said she thought they might never be best friends but would tollerate each other.

On Friday she came to drive me back again and I saw a few more cats but she drove me home with Misa and Sasa.  ;D They are very best friends.

Two or three weeks later she came again and drove me and Misa to vets for his second jab and then drove me back again.

So a Cp about 15 miles or more from me can do it, other rescues on here can do it, yet somewhere with so many animals doesnt need to free up a pen!

Pictures tomorrow Bryony and we gonna celebrate the ginger twins  :wow:

Once we'd got past that and I'd produced my reservation sheet and homecheck sheet, I said I'd just go get the carriers (there was no-one else there at this point). Was told, no you can't do that, you'll have to beek an appointment for tomorrow.

Gosh Bryony you've been through the mill with this havent you? I can't believe that you were there, cat baskets at the ready, the cats had been passed by the vet, and yet they still wouldnt let you take them - unbelievable!

Anyway, good luck for tomorrow

I rang about my last cat after seeing him advertised on catchat and had been house checked and given cat within 24hrs. This was because they were a small rescue and desperate for space and also because I was a good meowy to Leo and Lawrence :Luv2:

Pinkbear, far more sensible I'd say. The poor things will have been there very nearly a month as they came in on 1st march!

By contrast, we have been known to rehome non-problem cats with known backgrounds within 4 days of the initial enquiry from the adoptor...  :tired:

Yup, once I'd found out from the girl in the cattery whether the vet had cleared them (the reception woman just looked blankly at me when I asked), I went back and said they had been cleared to go by the vets, she looked blankly at me again and said 'so are you adopting them then'.  :tired:

Anyone would think they didn't want a free pen...

Finally!  :innocent:

Bryony, as soon as those puds are safely locked in the car, please tell them - from me - that they are as effective at cat rehoming as a spaghetti umbrella is during a monsoon!  >:(

 I love that comparison!!! Rest assured I will be following up my experience with them. At the moment the most important thing is getting my little ones home!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, sounds like everything is sorted  :Luv:

There are a lot of threads about de-fleaing and worming. I personally use Frontline and Drontal and worming is every couple of months. More if they go out. You also reminded me that my lot are due for it  :evillaugh:

Yup, everything is ready, litter box is all set up, I have a water bowl (big ceramic one) and lots of plastic double feeders and a kitty placemat set out in the kitchen. My collars from kittycollars arrives yesterday (I know how some people feel about collars but we won't get into that). Their bed is now up in our bedroom and the wonderful box is still in the lounge with all their toys! The box will have to be a makeshift cat tree until I make a definite decision on which one to buy them!

As far as food goes, they are currently on RC dry which I can buy from the centre tomorrow. I plan on slowly changing them onto high meat content wet complete food but I figured it was best for them to have what they were used to for now. I got the same litter (wooden pellet type) as well because they are used to that now.

They were wormed and de-fleaed when they came in but that was nearly a month ago now. What is the best flea treatment to use (we used frontline on casper but he now has stronghold) and how often will we need to worm them?

I can't understand it either. Their system makes very little sense from the point of view of the animals and they seem to be impossible to contact. Not to mention the way the reception staff behave towards potential adopters, especially the one who left the 'I hope this isn't an inconvenience for you and we'll get them fixed as soon as possible' message on my answerphone when the girls got ill!

I can't wait for the experience to be over and have my little ones home!

Lesley, I've never ever been able to get through to them on the phone. Once I resorted to sending them a fax explaining that I couldn't get through and that I just wanted to say my homecheck had been done. I got a bit of a stroppy callback a couple of hours later!

I'd go in person but I've seen people do that before and they get told to go away because they havn't booked an appointment to collect their cat!

It wouldn't surprise me if they have just called my home phone and left a message despite the fact that I gave them my work number and mobile number and they wrote both down in their diary along with the memo to call me.

Nothing would surprise me with them anymore.  I thought they were a bit "iffy" before but after the treatment you have received I am surprised they ever re-home any animals.
