For the past two years, we have been sponsoring a Dogs Trust pooch called Lazloe. He was an enormous Rottie and probably the opposite of what we would have chosen if we were to have a real dog, but Lazloe's 'aren't I adorable?' expression in his photos soon had us swooning.
He had suffered all his life with skin alergies, which is why he wasn't suitable for perminant adoption. We are told, though, that the combination of chasing the waves on Whistable beaches and a proper diet controlled his skin problems and he had a happy life with his carers.
The letter said that over the last few weeks he had done downhill. The new addition of diabetes and liver failure all proved too much and Lazloe was PTS with his carers at his side.
Even though we never met him, Lazloe's letters and bouncy photos really did brighten up our lives. Lazloe's Valentine cards full of slobbery wet kisses were something to behold!
We have been allocated a new sponsor dog called Lilly, and she looks like just the sort of woofit to carry on the task.... but we will miss our Lazloe.
